Likes

Campus life- After giving jee i had a real fun in my campus ,it feels like home there .You meet a lot of nice people there that really make your day.
Sports culture - sports culture of iit guwahati is really good .
Peer Group -peer group that you get in iit guwahati is praisable .

Dislikes

Sometimes you will feel home sickness that what i donot like thare .
food-i didn't like the mess food of IIT GUWAHATI
Exam curricullum - in mid and end semester you 'll have to give exams for the next 6-7 days that is very hectic . You'll not get time for pee too.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose for PHYSICS branch then I changed to Chemical Engineering after my first year. You'll find some teachers descent and some are extraordinary talented they have a vast knowledge of subject and are also involved in research. Passing exam is quite easy even if you had not stuf=died well for the whole semester.

Internships Opportunities

Intership this year (2023) was not good at all .A very few companies like Microsoft came for heiring and hired very few individuals. As compare to previous year intership offer dropped to almost 30% and believe me it was so less as compare to previous year.

Fees and Financial Aid

I must say that IITs Charge a lot if you are from a middle class family but as com[pare to private engineering colleges these colleges are far bettter. I din not got any scholarship till now in campus.

Campus Life

Cultural Fest -Alcheringa (Nort east most famous fest and I Had enjoyed it well) Tech Fest -Techniche (mailny for showcasing technology)We have a very Vast library for books where you can find books of various kind related to your curriculum and for your interest too. Sport is best of IIT Guwahati. There are clubs like cooking club(PALATES) , Yoga CLUb ,dance club(cadence),techniche club , aeomodelling club ,Ecell etc.

Hostel Facilities

Rooms are good but for double very congested, but afer 4 sem you'll be alloted a single room . Meal is not good according me especially lunch. Most of the people do not rent a pg because these are too far from campus .

Admission

I gave Jee Advance in 2022 and got selectded in IIT Guwahati. For application process you have to go through JOSSA Round where you will avail a seat in IIT on the basis of preference that you have filled at starting .I got reservation for EWS category.

Great college with decent infrastructure and a large campus

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute.The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Overall good university which offers good internships and placement.

Placement Experience:

Placement percentage is nearly about 75-80%. Usually students get placed in good PSUs, or in tech companies. Other students opt for further studies like mtech or mba. My plans is to mtech as I want to do better jobs than a btech graduate do

Placement Experience:

Normally from third semester student become eligible campus placements but most usually take placements in fourth semester or fifth semester The percentage of getting placements are about 60% The highest package per company usually was ?80,000 per month and the average is around 20,000 Per month My plan is to get a job of a construction firm for about one year so that I can collect good amount of experience and they will hire me because I am passout from this college because this is one of the most reputed college after one year or two year, I will try for government exams or some private companies like Gautam farm, et cetera

The students who are appearing for the 7th semester end term examination are eligible for the campus placement drive , eligibility varies as per the companies eligibility criteria, main factors are CGPA score of the particular student. There are many companies who visited the campus for placement drive but the main companies who visited for campus placement drive are : NRL( Numoligorh Refinery Limited) ,ONGC( oil natural gas corporation) etc , the highest package offered was 24 lpa by NRL and the offer was got by 8 students and the average package of our college is 7lpa approx

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester, one is eligible for Placements. This year(2024-25) 68 percent placement is done for B.Tech. Those who don't get placements either go for higher studies, UPSC, GATE, and some get job by referral from College Alumni.

An honest review for NIT silchar with detail analysis.

Placement Experience:

Placement of NIT silchar is pretty good. Average package is around 12 Lpa. Although after corona the placement dropped but still it is good. Many big tech companies visit during placement for full time and internship. Core companies also visits for different roles. During our placement season it happens generally after 7th semester. Generally criteria for sitting in any company varies based on cgpa and sometimes 10th and 12th marks depends on company to company generally it is 6 or 7 or 8 cgpa. Good it companies offer 20-30lpa and lowest offer was 6th lpa.

Placement Experience:

For campus placement student are eligible from 7th sem and for internship whole 3rd year 5th to 6th sem. Highest package till now is 34 lpa i guess in intuit .and lowest 6lpa.I am totally focus into doing job rsther than doing higher studies .Iam placed at Deloitte and i am happy.till now 50 percent students of civil got plsced 80 percent Cse

I have applied for DTU & IIITD where I got Software Engineering Branch through the JEE Mains Scores. But since I was sure to join old IIT. I was not sure much about branches so, I just filled all the core and circuital branches of all Old IITs. I wasn't able get other top IITs as my rank in JEE Advanced was not that level.
