Remarks

The administration and management of the college are very good. You can get all your official work done immediately. The only drawback is the college fee is a bit high than other government colleges.

Entrance Preview

I got this college by giving JEE main. I have got the admission in the last rounds i.e., spot round. This college was much better than in which I was before IIIT. Hence I chose this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

We are supposed to choose electives in 5th as well as the 7th semester in which most of the subjects are from computer science, electronics, electrical engineering and basic sciences. The institute focuses on research. The research is involved more in Ph.D. and M.Tech.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, it does provide internship every year before the beginning of summer and winter breaks to the eligible students. Stipend differs from company to company. Recently 2 of the students from 6th sem got an internship with a stipend of 35k in Aptus Datalabs. Hence it differs from student to student and company to company.

Placement Experience

4

There are a lot of companies which participate in the campus recruitment. The top companies are Dell, Sap, aptus datalabs, Samsung electronics, infosys, amdocs, mahindra, mindtree. The highest package offered was 24 lpa from Directi, 12 lpa around from Aptus and 8.5 lpa from Dell was offered to maximum students ie 28.Average package would be somewhere between 5-6 lpa. And it holds the record of 100 % placement.

College Events

5

The main festival of the college is called Advaita which has lots and lots of technical and cultural events. It's a 4 day long fest which has a footfall of around 3-4 k. Beside this is a literary fest and many technical and cultural events taking place throughout the session like spicmacay, footloose, intracollege sports competition, technical workshops, seminars, etc

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is bit high. The tuition fee is around 70k per semester and overall fees including hostel, mess, maintenance in around 2.3 lacs per annum. It increases gradually every year. It includes Tuition fees, Hostel fees, mess fees, transportation charge, library fees, etc

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers the scholarship to the top 3 students from every branch in every year. It also has the tuition fee waiver scheme for the financial assistance to the students who cannot afford the college fees.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Ours is a residential college which has the hostel facility for all the students. The hostel fess is included in the overall fees but it depends upon what type of room you opt for. There are single, double, triple and 4 bedded rooms. The charge is accordingly. Mess food is okayish not so good, not so bad. It is eatable.

Alumni/Alumna

It helps a lot. You can learn a lot from the alumni members who will share their experiences and industry knowledge which will, in turn, help you in future. It is a benefit also because they also refer your college to their company for campus recruitment.

Exam Structure

The structure of the exam in a semester is like this. We have 2 online quizzes of total 15 marks one mid sem of 30 marks and an end sem of 50 marks. 5 marks are with the teacher for teachers assessment which altogether makes 100. Normally it's very chilled out but there's a bit pressure in exam time.

Admission

The form is released every year in early may. I knew about the college previously and saw the notification on website. Hence I filled the form in mid May. There are 7 online rounds and 2 spot admission rounds if the seat remains vacant. The admission is provided by verifying all the necessary original documents if selected in one of the rounds.

Faculty

3.5

Almost all the faculties are IITians except some. Either some has graduated from IIT or have done their masters or research. Everyone, there is highly qualified and has an IIT tag. Every faculty member is very well informed about all the latest developments in the industry and are experts in their respective fields. You can always take help from them.

Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University - [SOA], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
