What Students Say
Likes
- I really liked the lush green campus. Well built labs and plenty of hangout spots.
- The cultural and other fests as well as different types of societies.
- Certain faculties are really good in their subjects and help you in all kinds of things.
Dislikes
- Certain departments have poor infrastructure which is common in all goverment colleges.
- If you have some issues you really don't know where to reach out
- Most of the offices work like typical government offices with nobody accountable and making you run from here and there.
Course Curriculum Overview
The faculty is okaish. Some teachers are really good but some are harsh too. The faculty to student ratio is decent. I chose this course as I was interested in mechanical engineering and supply chains and industrial methods too. The exams are a bit hectic as every two months you gotta give 6-8 exams.
Internships Opportunities
The intership scene was good a few years back but since recession hitting this year, internship opportunities have gone down within college. You gotta look outside for internships as I have heard from seniors.
Placement Experience
Students are available for placements in 6th semester. Highest package goes around 1.5CR while average is about 14-15 LPA but average package depends upon branch to branch. Their are more than 150 companies visiting the campus with Amazon Microsoft and all the giants. Around 70-75 percent students get placed from the campus itself.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for the four year program is around 10 lac plus hostel charges. However their are many scholarship programs such as sponsored by Dell and other companies Also the college gives concession to economically weaker sections. The campus placement scene is also well as far as I've heard but in non tech branches, side hustle has to be done to get a decent package.
Campus Life
The fests and stuff have a nice scene at DTU. The engifest is one of the largest North Indian fest held in DTU during spring. The library is really big with around 10-12k books. Most of the classrooms in the new blocks have projectors and white boards but classrooms in departments lack that newish charm. The sports scene is good with almost every sport available. The teams are really hard to get in if you ain't really good in your game. Social life at campus is really nice with around 160 acres of campus size and plenty space to hangout. There are many societies and clubs around 90-100 of em.
Admission
The admission is through the JEE Mains Exam. The cutoff for computer science is around 12-13k rank while lower branches could be achieved even at around 100k rank. The admission is through JAC delhi and the registration opens around July with which you can get into IIT delhi, NSUT and DTU
Other Applied Colleges
IIT Delhi - Indian Institute of Technology [IITD] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Mechanical Engineering)
Couldn't get in.
