Course Curriculum Overview
VIT offers a wide variety of courses and professors. I had chosen mechanical engineering as I was interested in it. VIt has a fully flexible credit system. So a student can choose their courses and the professors they want. All the faculty have a doctorate in their respective fields and all are experienced teachers. After every semester the college takes a review from the students on how the professor and the courses benefit them. In one semester a student has two internal exams, 3 assignments/quizzes, and 1 semester exam. The internal exams are conducted every 5 weeks once and one of them is an open-book exam.
Placement Experience
A student is eligible for placements from the 4th year. After the student enters their 4th year he/she has placement training and has to attend classes for this. These classes train the students to gain knowledge on what the industry expects and what they can improve in their cv. An average package for students is around 7 lpa and around 75 to 80 % of them get placed. I would be sitting for placements next year.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are based on your VITEEE rank. So once you get the fee structure in the first year, we would pay the same amount for all 4 years. The college provides scholarships for the top 10 students in each branch and has campus placements. The college also trains its students for the placements.
Campus Life
The college conducts 2 fests in a year namely gravitas and riviera. Gravitas is the tech fest and is conducted in the month of October and Riviera is the cultural fest and is conducted in the month of February. The college has a big library and has a wide variety of books. The classrooms are equipped with projectors. The campus has all sports amenities and various extracurricular activities in the college. They have various clubs, chapters, and teams that encourage the students to have a social life and develop their resumes.
Hostel Facilities
VIT provides the hostel rooms to the students by their CGPA. A person with a higher CGPA gets a better room and he or she can select their roommates. The college provides a bed, a table, a cupboard, and a drawer per student. The food in the college is good and the mess menu is selected by the students. There is a regular food review taken by the mess in charge.
Admission
For one to be eligible to join our college, they should have a cutoff percentage of 65% or above. Once this criteria is met, one can find the admission form on the VIT's website. After filling out the admission form the student has to pay for the VITEEE entrance exam. After the exam and results the students sit for counseling. Based on their rank the students have various categories of fees and depending on the department they choose and their rank the college sends them their fee structure.
