The overview of Amrita University, Coimbatore

I chose this course because I have an interest in automobile engineering and metallurgy with new inventions and goals in them. Almost all the head faculties have Ph. D.s done that is everyone you hear will start with Dr. The faculty are quite good at explaining things and lecturing about its future, the one thing which I don't like is there will be more board writing than creative visualization which brings more attention and interest that the conventional board teachings. our college has one mid-term exam and one end-semester exam for one semester which will be like 3rd month for mids and the last month for end exams. the exams are quite good in terms of toughness and corrections are very strict. even the examinations are quite strictly conducted.

many companies are visited in this college like Google, Microsoft, Volvo, cat, cisco, and many more big multinational companies offering the highest around 60lpa and average being 6lpa for overall btech in this college. we are eligible for placements from 3rd year ending to 4th year starting. the college starts giving you placement training called the CIR (corporate and industrial relations) course at the start of the second year which is the third semester. around 90% of the people in their branches get placed in any of the companies. more than 200 companies come here to offer jobs.

The normal fee structure or the regular fee slab will be from 3-5 lpa based on what course you chose to take but based on the slabs you have this reduces, in mechanical slab one is 1.2lpa and slab 2 is 2lpa and slab 3 is 2.7 LPA and slab 4 or regular slab is as I said 3 LPA and then there is one quota called nonscholarship where the person got a mark but doesn't fit the course requirements then he can pay more and join the course. no management quota is available. the scholarship is purely based on your rank given by Amrita for counseling, and what you choose like you got 8000 and you chose cse but you can't get it for that rank, therefore, you'll get slab 5 that is nonscholarship in cse and slab 1 in mech like that.

we have 3 annual fests that are gokulasthami, anokha, and amritostavam. other than that small cultural fests for the festivals and other days are conducted by the college cultural groups like raagasudha for music, Natyasudha for dance and etc. tech fests are also conducted in collaboration with a few companies and other colleges where sometimes you ever go to other college to showcase your invention or project. the library has a wide range of books for your course and also e-books, journals, and even access to the biggest societies like ASME, ASCE, IEEE, and many more. sports and extracurriculars are always there. badminton, tennis, cricket, football, frisbee, volleyball, basketball, TT and etc are there.

For btech there are two ways you can get into this college: by AEEE (Amrita engineering entrance examination) and by your jee mains score. you can find the application form from the portal after registering and paying the registration fee. based on your marks in aeee or your jee score you'll get one rank. this rank will say which slab you will get, which college, and which branch but obviously you need to keep it for counseling which is for 3 rounds, where you need to pay around 5000 for counseling and if you don't get anything or you don't opt for anything, they'll return the money. that's the final slab you'll have, you cant decrease it like from slab 2 to slab 1 but if you don't get the required marks to maintain the slab then it will fall down and never go back. you have the normal eligibility that is passed in the 12th exams.
