Never opt for Private Universities which are not much old. But If your rank is bad, this university will do the job.
Entrance Preview
I took both JEE and WBJEE. In WBJEE, I got around 11,700 rank. I opted for this college because it provided quite good education in IT and CSE branches.
Course Curriculum Overview
We have an online Moodle in our college website where all syllabus and courses,additional information get uploaded time to time. Each student has an ID and Password to access the Information. Teachers also upload the syllabus into our what's app group and email-id.
Internships Opportunities
The college provides almost no internships in most of the branches. They partner with organizations like AIESEC to provide internships to students.
Placement Experience
The placement is nice only for CSE and IT branches. Even companies like Microsoft also come for placement. maximum students in these branches get selected. in other branches, there is almost nil placements. only some extraordinary students get selected.
College Events
We have a cultural fest SAHOTSAVA celebrated at different venues each year. We have sports fest RUDRA celebrated twice a year. We have technical fest VIVARTA each year. There are also many seminars and events other than these throughout the year. It is nice to have large number of co-curricular activities.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is actually a bit unambigious. As most of the students get admitted through management quota, Fee structure varies from 5.6 lakh to 6.4 lakhs The fee is a bit expensive for a private university in Kolkata. Other WBUT colleges offer same courses at half the price.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college provides scholarship to students of backward classes and below poverty line students. There is no scholarships or fee cuts for general students.
Campus Life
The campus life is truly amazing. The gender ratio ratio is much better as there are large number of management students as well. Extracurricular activities occur in the form of fests, the quality of these events is below par as best colleges do not participate in these
Hostel Facilities
There is Hostel facilities for only a few students. I don't know much about the hostel as I live on rent on my own. Though, i know that the food is not nice and fights occur regularly. Students are also into smoking and drugs. It is recommended not to opt for hostel facilities.
Alumni/Alumna
Though there are only a handful of Aluminis, but they work with all their might to help juniors.The seniors who are serious about their studies, helps the juniors in every possible way.
Exam Structure
As it is a private university, exam schedules may change for any reason. the exam structure is similar to that of MAKAUT colleges.There are 20 marks for labs, 10 for attendance and assignments and 70 for theory subject papers. there is also 100 marks for Enterpreneaurship Skill Development.
Admission
I enrolled myself for WBJEE counselling,Here, we have to choose colleges and branches as per our interest. Choices shall be ranked as per the closing rank information in previous years counselling. In the last round(#3d), I was alotted CSE in Techno India University.
Faculty
Every student can meet with their teacher in their respective cabins. We also have a class representative who takes our queries to teachers and clears our doubts. Each batch has a Class Teacher as well. We are also provided with contact number and email id of respective teachers in our website.
