I chose this course because it's something I always wanted to study. There are 6 teachers and a total number of 24 students in the class. All the teachers are well qualified and teach us well. 2 exams are conducted per year and those are of average difficulty.

Class Size: 32Course Fees: INR 4000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are very minimal, just rs. 4000 per year. Most of us got a scholarship named Swami Vivekananda Scholarship in this college. Besides we get various skill development courses from this institute, which will definitely help us in the future.

Campus Life

The annual fest is conducted in the month of September, and is named 'Krishti'. Besides various science fests are also conducted at various times of the year. The library contains nearly every kind of book. Both students and teachers are very active in sports and extracurricular activities. The college has a Standard Club, Sciences Club, Movie Club, etc.

Admission

The admission was conducted on the basis of the 12th results. We had to go to the official website of the college to apply for the required course. Then based on the cut-off we were called for admission, which was again through the college website.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think I'm a curious student. Integrating biology with technology is interesting Recently we are studying animal tissue culture plant tissue culture which is superb. Generating a plan from a single cell is truly something interesting. I was drawn to genetics and biotechnology application . This curriculum prepares a student for research and industrial purpose . We get to do lab experiments project work under professors. In my opinion improvement can be done by industrial visits Exams take place at the end of each semester and we have mid sems in between

SXC Kolkata is a gem of a college.

Placement Experience:

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

Placement Experience:

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

My experience at St. Xavier's

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course theory helps us gain a solid understanding of the subject matter. Film studies and Mass Communication theory classes has laid down the foundation of the subject- from what is a shot and the kinds of shots and angles, to the beginning of radio in India and essays by CS Pierce and John Berger. The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course as I like physics very much and I wish to make my career on research & general lines. In our batch, we are 21 students who come regularly, the faculties are 6, whereas 2 lab attendants. All faculties are MSc and 4 of them have PhDs. Yes, in our college it takes an internal exam & that's very tough.
