Course Curriculum Overview

5

Sir and mam of our department are our very good mentors. He took all the classes properly and if there was any difficulty in understanding something, he explained it again and again. And sir and madam of our food department are also good, they help us a lot.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of our college is also very good and done in a very nice way so that everyone can make an effort. What I have noticed in some government colleges is that they don't have many extra fees which many poor families can't pay but our college doesn't have that. Swami Bibekananda got a scholarship too which is very beneficial in their studies.

Campus Life

5

In our college, We have first priority in education but there are very many extracurricular activities. the annual fest is Organised here. Also many days in week we attend seminars. The college supports that. Also in Sports. Like we have attended a BIS seminar some days ago.

Admission

Admission to our Acharya Brojendra Nath Seal College is usually based on the percentage of marks in higher secondary. I was like that too. My name came much later as my higher secondary number. And that is to say, the admission process was very transparent.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think I'm a curious student. Integrating biology with technology is interesting Recently we are studying animal tissue culture plant tissue culture which is superb. Generating a plan from a single cell is truly something interesting. I was drawn to genetics and biotechnology application . This curriculum prepares a student for research and industrial purpose . We get to do lab experiments project work under professors. In my opinion improvement can be done by industrial visits Exams take place at the end of each semester and we have mid sems in between

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

In today's competitive job market it becomes important for the college to not just help students get degrees but also provide them with placements and internships so that they can have the experience needed to stand at a competitive footing with the rest of the candidates in the world.
