Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose this course because I am interested in physics. Another reason for choosing the course is I want to clear the JAM exam to go to IIT. I think Our faculty is better than any department faculty in our college. They take the class properly and often they motivate themselves about physics and tell many psychological thing that is amazing. Also, they are very frank about studies and everything. When we took admission there were 33 sits and 33 students in class but after that many students cancelled their applications for jobs, some for preparation jobs, NEET, and JEE. We are now about 25 students in the Department of Physics. The number of faculty is 6 and also 2 lab assistant for practicals. 2 faculty completed their PhD and the rest have completed M.SC. They take a lecture for about 2 hours and daily about 2-3 lectures and 1-2 practical class. We completed the 1st-semester exam and the 2nd-semester exam and studied for the 3rd-sem exam, there are 3yr of graduation and a total of 6 semesters. I passed every exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are no such fees. I think anybody can afford this fee. We take admission with pay 1810rs. and yearly fees of about 2500-2600rs. The exam fees for every semester are about 850rs and for some is semester about 500-600 semester fees and no other additional fees and for a year 2 semester the total fees are about 2500-2600rs. We got a scholarship SWAMI VIVEKANANDA MERIT CUM MEANS SCHOLARSHIP based on 60 per cent marks in the previous year and we got 18000 rs from this scholarship from the West Bengal State government. Job opportunity is not here on our campus.

Campus Life

4

I participated in the college freshers programme, farewell programme, annual college days fest and many cultural and scientific programmes happened in our college an ISRO scientist from Coochbehar came to our college somedays ago to tell about CHANDRAYAAN-3. Our library is very big and many necessary books for our class and other journal books, current affairs books, story books and many books are available there. No annual sports are happening. For science students a club name of SCIENCE CLUB.

Admission

The eligibility for applying to Acharya Brojendra Nath Seal College and any other college in West Bengal for studies in B.SC and B. A is the 12th pass out. After the 12th pass, anyone applies for this college with his/her 12th mark sheet based on the 12th result. There are no application fees after application a merit list is prepared by the college based on the 12th result. Whose name appears in the merit list an SMS and email is sent with the applicant number and email ID. After that, he/she pays the admission fees of 1810rs for B.SC physics (Hons). If the quota is not full then a new merit list is prepared for the rest top students (based on the result of the 12th). After paying the college fees the students receive an SMS from the college to verity the document and after successful verification student is finally admitted to college as a college student.

Other Applied Colleges

Dinhata College | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Physics)

Acharya Brojendra Nath college is better than Dinhata college

Cooch Behar College | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Chemistry)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think I'm a curious student. Integrating biology with technology is interesting Recently we are studying animal tissue culture plant tissue culture which is superb. Generating a plan from a single cell is truly something interesting. I was drawn to genetics and biotechnology application . This curriculum prepares a student for research and industrial purpose . We get to do lab experiments project work under professors. In my opinion improvement can be done by industrial visits Exams take place at the end of each semester and we have mid sems in between

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

In today's competitive job market it becomes important for the college to not just help students get degrees but also provide them with placements and internships so that they can have the experience needed to stand at a competitive footing with the rest of the candidates in the world. To look into this, St. Xavier's College has a Placement Cell run by Placements officer Mr. Niladri Sinha under whose guidance, various companies visit the college regularly looking for capable young minds to take under their wing and help provide them with the necessary exposure and experience so that they can combat any obstacles that they face.
