VIT BHOPAL UNIVERSITY BRIEF REVIEW

The course curriculum is no doubt one of the best in the country. They exactly know what and when to teach. I chose Btech computer science and engineering because I had an interest in technology. The student-faculty ratio is around 1:80. Every faculty in VIT Bhopal is a PhD. They have 100% doctoral faculty. The teaching method is also decent. Exams happen every 50 days in the form of mid-term and end terms. In between them, we also have quizzes and assignments. Exams are not that difficult but yeah they hold a good level of toughness.

Internship opportunities are pretty good. More than 200 companies offer internship opportunities. Recently a second-year student grabbed a Google internship from the college. The average stipend is around 20-25 K.

Placements are the biggest pro this college holds. One of the best in terms of placement. The students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester. This year around 957 companies visited our campus. Out of all the offers that were made, 38% were above 10 lakhs. 36% were above 6 lakhs. The highest package for this year was 54 Lpa. Last year it was 59 LPA. The average package for this year is 9.18 LPA. Last year it was 8.10 Lpa. They print 90% placement on their charts but it isn't true. About 70-75 % get placed. My plans after getting this degree are to earn well and have a good and prosperous life.

The fee structure according to a private university is pretty good. They charge you 2 lakh as tuition fees and almost 1.3 - 2 lakh as hostel fees (depending on your hostel preference). The fees are not that high when you compare it with others. The fees hike is usually around 5-8 % but it doesn't change for the existing students.

Campus Life is no doubt pretty compromised. We have PDA guards who keep an eye over you when you are roaming around with the opposite gender. We have restrictions such as college curfew starting from 7:30 only and you need to be in the hostel by 8:30-9 anyhow. There are several other restrictions as well for going out from the campus. The annual fest is known as adVITya and it is conducted around February. The library is pretty nice and well-equipped. It has most of the books and a pretty good space to read and feel at peace. Classrooms are also pretty good. They have nice furniture and all. Sports is really poor. They have a football ground but it isn't maintained. We have a cricket ground but again it isn't maintained. Basketball TT and badminton are all good. Nice courts and pretty good facilities. There are several social clubs inside the college. They are functional and actually mean something. Websites run by students is Vcab. It is a cab service website.

VIT has its own entrance exam known as VITEEE. You can find the application form on their official after they release it. Its fees usually range between 1200-1500. Applications open around December and close around March. There are no reservations in the exam. The admission process is pretty smooth and it's good.
