Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I have a lot of interest in Electronics and that too in NitW is a dream for every jee aspirant so I took ECE. The faculty here are well trained and professionals who did PGs and PhDs. The faculty-student ratio of NITW is about 1:15. The way the faculty teaches are good and in a simple understandable way. The exams are divided into 60 and 40 marks. 60 marks for internal exams and 40 marks for external end-semester exams. It is easy to average for a student to pass exams. Just one has to study well.

Placement Experience

4.5

In terms of placements, the college is excellent performing very well each year. The students are eligible to sit for campus placements after their 3rd year with minimum eligibilities. Around 1400 students placed last year in top companies like Amazon, Microsoft, TCS, Wipro, etc. More than 150 companies visit our campus every year. My goal is to get into a good company with good CTC in campus placements. About 95% of students get placed in different companies. Up to now, the highest package provided is 88lpa and average 17.29 lpa which is the best on Average.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no tuition fee for SC/ST/PWD students and INR 62500/- per semester for the remaining categories in Btech. There is a remission for students whose family's annual income is or less than 5LPA. There is a fee remission provided to the top 10 students of class in each semester which is very appreciable. The college supports the financial conditions of students by providing educational loans.

Campus Life

4.5

There are many activities conducted in NitW including two fests one is a technical fest called Technoz'ian and another is Spring Spree a cultural fest. These are conducted every year one in December and another in February ending. There are many clubs in the institute like DnD (dance) club, music, space clubs, etc. The coding clubs are very useful to all the branch students. There are many physical activities and sports supported by NITW management. The EAA ( Extra Academic Activity) is a part of the first semester which is mandatory. There are digital classrooms, seminar halls, study halls, and a big library.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostels are not very spacious but adjustable. There are different blocks for each year's students. The mess food is average but eatable with different varieties including special dinners every month. For first-year boys, they allote 1.8k mega hostel which is the largest in Asia. There is a double accommodation for first-year boys and a triple for girls. The rooms have LAN provided in the boys' hostel. There is campus WiFi but a poor network.

Admission

To get admission in NITW one has to clear JEE Mains Examinations and get minimum percentile. For the ECE branch, the minimum cutoff rank is around 6k for the general category. There is a reservation benefit for SC/ST/PWD students. They can provide u admission based on your category ranks which is very helpful. The admission process is done through JOSAA and CSAB which is conducted online. Imo the admission process is unbiased and no need for any improvement.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Placement cell is least active.. Few good companies like Infosys, amazon, TCS etc visited but the average package is of 1-2 LPA and only 25-30% of students whose all exams are cleared can sit in the placement cell. The highest package is of 8LPA. My plan is to move abroad for higher studies.. The students after completion of 6th sem can sit in placement cell

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
