Course Curriculum Overview

I chose chemical engineering at IIT Guwahati as it was the best option for my rank and I always had a deep interest in the Chemical engineering curriculum. The faculty-student ratio is around 1:50 All the faculty members have done Ph.D. in their respective fields from IITs or from foreign universities. They teach good Term exams were difficult and they were held around mid-September.

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 260000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are affordable and the cost to study is mid. If someone's family income is below 1 lakh per year they will get a full waiver and if someone's family income is between 1-5 lacs they will also get some scholarships depending on their situation.

Campus Life

Life on campus is good. The annual fest held here is called Alcheringa which is our annual cultural festival which goes on for 4 nights and 3 days. It is held in Feb-March. Our tech fest is called Techniche which is held at the beginning of September. Every book is available in the central library. Classrooms have AC and Wi-Fi. Sports facilities are good and there are many extracurricular activities we get ourselves involved in. There is a student gymkhana which is run by my students and looks after all the problems on the campus and manages everything.

Admission

First, we have to take two exams JEE mains and JEE Advanced. After clearing the jee mains cutoff we are eligible to give jee advanced. Jee mains has two attempts first in January and the other in April. After that jee advanced is held in June. You will find all the details about the JEE on the there website as it's a government examination.

Great college with decent infrastructure and a large campus

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute.The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Overall good university which offers good internships and placement.

Placement Experience:

Placement percentage is nearly about 75-80%. Usually students get placed in good PSUs, or in tech companies. Other students opt for further studies like mtech or mba. My plans is to mtech as I want to do better jobs than a btech graduate do

Placement Experience:

Normally from third semester student become eligible campus placements but most usually take placements in fourth semester or fifth semester The percentage of getting placements are about 60% The highest package per company usually was ?80,000 per month and the average is around 20,000 Per month My plan is to get a job of a construction firm for about one year so that I can collect good amount of experience and they will hire me because I am passout from this college because this is one of the most reputed college after one year or two year, I will try for government exams or some private companies like Gautam farm, et cetera

The students who are appearing for the 7th semester end term examination are eligible for the campus placement drive , eligibility varies as per the companies eligibility criteria, main factors are CGPA score of the particular student. There are many companies who visited the campus for placement drive but the main companies who visited for campus placement drive are : NRL( Numoligorh Refinery Limited) ,ONGC( oil natural gas corporation) etc , the highest package offered was 24 lpa by NRL and the offer was got by 8 students and the average package of our college is 7lpa approx

From the seventh semester, one is eligible for Placements. This year(2024-25) 68 percent placement is done for B.Tech. Those who don't get placements either go for higher studies, UPSC, GATE, and some get job by referral from College Alumni.

An honest review for NIT silchar with detail analysis.

Placement Experience:

Placement of NIT silchar is pretty good. Average package is around 12 Lpa. Although after corona the placement dropped but still it is good. Many big tech companies visit during placement for full time and internship. Core companies also visits for different roles. During our placement season it happens generally after 7th semester. Generally criteria for sitting in any company varies based on cgpa and sometimes 10th and 12th marks depends on company to company generally it is 6 or 7 or 8 cgpa. Good it companies offer 20-30lpa and lowest offer was 6th lpa.

Placement Experience:

For campus placement student are eligible from 7th sem and for internship whole 3rd year 5th to 6th sem. Highest package till now is 34 lpa i guess in intuit .and lowest 6lpa.I am totally focus into doing job rsther than doing higher studies .Iam placed at Deloitte and i am happy.till now 50 percent students of civil got plsced 80 percent Cse

I have applied for DTU & IIITD where I got Software Engineering Branch through the JEE Mains Scores. But since I was sure to join old IIT. I was not sure much about branches so, I just filled all the core and circuital branches of all Old IITs. I wasn't able get other top IITs as my rank in JEE Advanced was not that level.
