Remarks

Management is good. You don't face any issues regarding any management. But if you want any thing to organise than you need to take prior permission from the authority otherwise they won't allow youn

Entrance Preview

IIT JEE2015,AIR- 3476 The environment of IITG is very nice. Also the campus is best among any IIT. I wanted to take chemical engineering specifically, so with my rank I got selected for IITG in admission process.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum for some department is very nice. Many of the bachelor students have their papers published in B.Tech itself. Also the number of research opportunities u get here is too high. All the equipment's are available inside campus only. Even instrument like electron microscope.

Internships Opportunities

Yes IITG provides summer internships. For B.tech students stipends are less (approx 10k) but for M.Tech and P.hd it's good (approx 20-40k). It is very effective chance for any student who don't have excess to high tech equipments to come here and do miracles.

Placement Experience

4

Every year more than 100 companies visit for placements. More than 500 students out of 800 (approx) registering for placements gets placed with a decent package. Companies like Microsoft, Apple, Goldman Sachs also visit every year. In core sectors also companies do visit like D-shaw, Relaince, Jindal, tower research etc.

College Events

4.5

Technical fest- Techniche which is conducted in the month of September every year. It is largest technical fest in North east India. Cultural festival - Alchrianga Conducted in the month of February every year and has a reputation of largest cultural festival in North east India and 2nd largest in India. Apart from. This we do have department fests and sports fest etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's feasible. Even if you are not earning much than you can apply for the scholarship here in which you just need to pay 20% maximum of the your total fees. It's about 2.2 lakh per annum for a btech student. And ST/SC has 1.8 lakh fees off. And rest 40k as well if you have less family income. So basically it's free of cost.

Fees and Financial Aid

McM - for students having family income less than 4.5lakh can apply for this and will get almost 90% of the fees paid reimbursed. Apart from this if you are among top 2 in your department your complete tution fee is free for that particular sem.

Campus Life

5

Gender ratio is same as other IIT's that is 1:8. We have lot of extra curricular activities. All the sports facilities are available. Including cricket, basketball, football, volleyball, athletic ground. Regular parliament debate is organised in between semester along with events from literary club, robotics club, campus media, aerospace club etc.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

IITG is the only IIT to provide single rooms to every single student. Mess food is neither much good nor bad. It's average. Hostel facilities are good. Room size and internet facility is very good. It's not less than your home. Also the weather here is very nice. Temperature never increases more than 35 so no need of coolers or AC in summer also.

Alumni/Alumna

SAIL - student alumina interaction linkage is a student team in IITG who helps in maintaining good alumina relationship with students as well as the institute. Alumina do visit IITG on regular basis and share their experiences and also offers jobs in their companies if they find you fit for that company.

Exam Structure

No not at all. The exams are conducted 2 times per semester majorly. First in mid of the sem and 2nd in end of the sem. In between you might have some quizes based on the course but this two are major. And it is very chill and. Grading policy is also relative.

Admission

It is completely based on your rank and the choices filled by other Candidates. We need to do counselling in which every student fill their choices and based on their ranks they are allotted IIT's. Every yearin the month on June and July this process happens and you must have qualified jee iit exam for admission. Their is no other way.

Faculty

4

Faculty is good. They keep motivating you for research and they also teach us the industrial related problems so that the student who want to opt for job can also be benefited. They also allow you to work with them in their projects if you are really interested.

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute. The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Many big tech companies visit during placement for full time and internship. Core companies also visits for different roles. During our placement season it happens generally after 7th semester.
