Peaceful campus with perfect infrastructures

A good University for its peaceful campus and very good infrastructures but still it needs to improve in research area.... But i would say it is flourishing with rapid pace as this University is is 20 years old only.

I joined PG Dept. of Botany in 2015 after qualifying M.Sc entrance test with the rank no. 4. It was also not very far from my home. So I opted this University.

If we consider the Course fee, i would say is affordable, it is pretty low...in regular courses u need to pay some 2500 rupees per year but in self-financing courses, u need to pay additional 10000 rupees, that means 12500 rupees per year. Though u need to pay additional 10000 rupees in self-financing mode, still i will say you should get admitted because it is not easy to get a seat in university, especially in govt. university.

No there is no provision of internship in this university but it allows its students to join such programmes in other institutions.

This university provides courses like Masters, M.phil, Pre-Ph.D, Ph.d. These courses are aiming at providing a career in a broad research field or will help you be a lecturer. Many of the students have been appointed in many national level research labs as JRF or SRF. Many students have been appointed as lecturers or assistant professors after either qualifying NET, GATE or SSB. Many freshers have qualified NET, GATE and they are definitely going to be appointed as JRF in different institutes in future days or they may select lectureship as their profession.

Different pujas like Ganesh puja, Saraswati puja are celebrated here... 2 annual functions are organized every year: one on the behalf of the cultural club of a university and another on the behalf of students' union. It also organizes state level NSS camps every year... Different blood donation camp, women self-protection training camps are also organized here. Students union organizes many competition every year to isolate different talents from different departments and these candidates are awarded.

This university provides different courses at quite an affordable price. Regular courses are quite affordable, some Rs 2500/- per year in Masters courses but self-financing courses demand a little more... They demand additional 10000 rupees..that means they need to pay 12500 rupees per year. For M.phil course, u need to pay 7000-8000 rupees per year.

This University does not give any loan or any scholarship from its fund to its students. But if you are a good student you can avail Prerana, ST/SC scholarship , National OBC scholarships etc.

If we consider the campus here, i would say this university is one of the best universities in Odisha for its peaceful campus. This university is also reputed for its discipline. You might have heard rare cases regarding disputes in NOU campus and there is no case of sexual harrasment or such things in this institution. There is seoarate sell for girls in this regard.

I would say hostel facilities here is best.... Hostels are not less than hotels... Marble floored and only 2 students are alloted in one room. Well ventileted... Hostel fee is quite affordable , Rs. 5000/- per semester. Food is good .Univ hostel charges Rs. 1500/- per student per month for fooding.

This University was established in 1998. So no. of alumna of this university is not too high. It is increasing day by day... Recently my Dept. had organised alumni function and i was invited there. Many old students had come...

Exams here are semester based... 2 semesters exams per year.... In each sem. there are two internal exams.. For masters course there are four sem exams for two years, two sem exams per year. You will have dissertation paper in final semester. Duration of M.phil here is one year so u will have rwo sem exams in m.phil with dissertation in final sem. Result will be in the form of both percentage and CGPA.

This University holds its own entrance test for admitting students in Masters, M.phil, pre-Ph.D and Ph.D courses. Students who have qualified national level exams like NET, GATE etc are exampted from entrance test for M.phil, pre-Ph.D and Ph.D and only need to face interview.

Currently there are two types of departments are existing in this university. Some are regular and rests are self-financing.Generally regular deparments are having sufficient nos. of faculties currently but self-financing departments are having a littke less nos of teaching staffs. But this univ is making some self-financing departnents regularised soon and they are going to release notice regarding appointment for faculties in these dept. soon.
