Remarks

I completed my M.Sc Life Sciences from Government Autonomous College, Phulbani. It was a memorable period of time for me, the facilities were pretty good and the faculty always engaged in helping us excel in our career with the help of their guidance. The college infrastructure is also quite good.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The college is affiliated to Berhampur University, and strictly follows all the guidelines and syllabus prescribed by the University. The examinations are held on a yearly basis of overall 500 marks each year consisting of 6 paper each respectively.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee for the college is quite feasible. The fee for the first year of my M.Sc Life Sciences was Rs. 1900 at that time. The college also provides fee waivers to meritorious and economically weaker students.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are various types of scholarships been instituted by the college for encouraging meritorious students. Some of them are - • P.G. Merit Scholarship The P.G. Merit Scholarship is rewarded to students who are in 5th year of their Post Graduation, and have secured 60% or more marks in (Hons.) graduation examinations. The scholarship is renewable yearly within the same stage of education. The scholarship is rewarded by D.H.E. Orissa, BBSR. • Senior Merit Scholarship All the Graduation final year students who have secured more than 50% of marks in aggregate in 12th Examinations are eligible for a senior merit scholarship. The scholarship is renewable yearly within the same stage of education. The scholarship is rewarded by D.H.E. Orissa, BBSR. @ Rs50/- per month. • Post Matric Scholarship (for SC/ST Students): All the students belonging to SC/ST whose parents’ annual income is below 1,00,000/- are eligible to apply for the post-matric scholarship. The SC/ST students should submit their respective caste certificate, annual income certificate along with their fresh/renewable application form every year for the reward of the scholarship. • Scholarship of Excellence: The college rewards scholarship of excellence carrying a cash reward of Rs.1,000/- to the best graduates. Students can contact their concerned faculty asking for further information on any of the scholarships they wish to apply for.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The college also provides hostel facilities for both boys and girls separately. The hostels are pretty good and have a decent infrastructure. Hostel rooms are quite spacious and comfortable for students to spend their college life in. The only area that requires attention is the cleanliness of washrooms and food served, which can be improved further.

Admission

College takes students on merit basis. Firstly, I submitted the application form for the college, it can be physically filled in college or downloaded and submitted online itself. Then a merit list is declared for students who are eligible to enroll in the college. I had a good aggregate in honours in concerned subjects securing 89%, and 91% as overall aggregate. I continued with my admission procedure and provided all the required documents and also filled a portion of fee, to ensure my admission in the college.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of the college is quite friendly and strict whenever needed and gives good guidance to their students. Most of the faculty are PhD holders in their respective subjects and are very knowledgeable regarding it.

Course curriculum is very good at niser and are comparable to some foreign institutes. There are world class facilities available for you and the labs are the main insights here. But you have to be somewhat attentive regarding your exams as exams are easy to moderate level.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I want to become a lecturer so i choosed the royal course Masters in zoology rather than any other specialisation course. And the course Masters of Science in Zoology, Botany is provided by very few private universities in Odisha and AIPHU is one of them i think probably the best one. Faculty do come and leave but there replacement is done simultaneously. The faculty student ratio is normal. Most of the faculty members have completed there PhD as well as Post Doctorial research from foreign universities and medical. Our faculty focus on building strong foundation. They start from basics and teach the difficult topics in very simpler way. We have two midterms each of 1 hours and of 100points which get converted to 20 marks. And one endterm of 50 marks and 10 marks for internal assessment. Midterms are brainstorming but it makes us thorough in specific units which makes endterm exam easier.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because this allows me to delve deeper into the passion for understanding animal life and their biological processes. Secondly, this is also a step towards my goal to become a researcher. The faculty members at our university are very dedicated, highly qualified, with their post-docs from a renowned university and are very cooperative. They teach us in a very friendly way, and their passion for research enriches the academic environment. The difficulty level for term exams is medium, neither too hard nor too easy, and requires hard work.

I choose this course because I much interest in it. Student faculty ratios is good as per availability. Professor are available most of the time. They are all very qualified and are hired as per the minimum requirements criteria of the college. Exams are semester-wise and happen biannually. It's difficult to pass the exams if you don't study properly throughout the year.
