What Students Say
Likes
- The best thing about AIPHU is its lab. The basic instrument not available in any government colleges is available here. We never face any issue regarding not having any instrument or chemicals to perform practical.
- Campus life is good. Students engaging activities are done. Recently Navratri was celebrated by organising Dandiya competition and the best ethnic wear competition too. The faculty members are very friendly, supportive and always to clear our doubts.
- The 4th semester is entirely dedicated for research work dessertation or technical. Some students research work get published. Seminars and presentation by students takes place which boost our confidence and presentation skills.
Dislikes
- The canteen is dedicated to mostly hostlers. Only day scholars can pay and have lunch. The quality and taste of food vary from worst to good. There is no snacks available in canteen. We have to go out of college for snacks.
- All classrooms must be Air-conditioned because we faced a lot of issues during summer while attending class. But I hope in new campus this problem will be sorted.
Course Curriculum Overview
I want to become a lecturer so i choosed the royal course Masters in zoology rather than any other specialisation course. And the course Masters of Science in Zoology, Botany is provided by very few private universities in Odisha and AIPHU is one of them i think probably the best one. Faculty do come and leave but there replacement is done simultaneously. The faculty student ratio is normal. Most of the faculty members have completed there PhD as well as Post Doctorial research from foreign universities and medical. Our faculty focus on building strong foundation. They start from basics and teach the difficult topics in very simpler way. We have two midterms each of 1 hours and of 100points which get converted to 20 marks. And one endterm of 50 marks and 10 marks for internal assessment. Midterms are brainstorming but it makes us thorough in specific units which makes endterm exam easier.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of my course is 80000 per annum and 10,000 admission fees. There was scholarship cum entrance exam in the university. I appeared that exam and got scholarship of 20,000 which was deducted from my total course fees. You can also avail other scholarship given by government. There is no job and intership opportunity for biological sciences course but for Public health and MBA its available.
Campus Life
The university observes all days related to science and public health like National Science Day, World Mosquito Day, World Physiotherapy. It organises different student activities and competition like debate, poster, rangoli, quiz, etc. Rally and Drama Act is done by students in the local area to aware people about Health and Environment cleanliness. The library has books of indian as well as foreign author. Each classroom has a white board and projector. The classroom is not air-conditioned but all the labs are Air-conditioned equiped with all types of instruments required for practical work. There is no facility of sports in the campus. But as mentioned above we observed all days related to science with great enthusiasm.
Admission
The eligibility of the course was BSc in Zoology. I found the application form, application fees and application dates from the website as well as got a call from University if i am interested to take admission. There is no reservation benefits given by college. But other government reservation and scholarship can be availed. The admission process was hassle free. If you have any doubt you can contact the university through call or visit the university office. The officials will guide you in the further proceedings. You can simply visit the university with your documents and deposit admission fees to confirm your seat.
