Course Curriculum Overview
I chose BTech agriculture as the university is famous for agriculture. Almost every professor has Ph.D. qualifications and teaching experience of 10+ years. Professors are competent in their field of work and have exquisite knowledge about the subjects. There are 3 exams in a semester. 2 are pre-finals 15 marks each with 20 marks related to assignments and practicals and one final exam of 50 marks at the end of the semester. While the B.Tech courses may be difficult but with the help of studying students can score well.
Placement Experience
The university offers annual placements for final year students where companies like SBI, HDFC, Nestle, etc. come. The placement for B.Tech is high with an average package of 9LPA. While placements do come, it is not 100% and students are always left out. Hence students do not depend completely on placements but look out for other opportunities. After completion of my degree, I would further study for M.Tech.
Fees and Financial Aid
The B.Tech degree program has a fee of almost 50 thousand per semester including hostel and food services. The fees can increase and decrease according to the hostel charges but the tuition fees is over 16 thousand per semester with other charges. Financial assistance is given to students of categories. Scholarships are also given such as NSP scholarships, university scholarships, sports scholarships, etc. The details of ongoing and new scholarships are given through the website www.gbpuat.ac.in where notices come for different scholarships.
Campus Life
The university provides various extracurricular activities and events. There are many sports events and national events. Athletic meets and sports events are conducted 2 times a year. Different sports events are done during these meets like cricket, football, volleyball, races, basketball, tennis, kabaddi, etc. Orientation and fresher party is conducted for 1st year students. Various societies related to the extra curriculum are there run by students like College societies, Chetna, SPIC MACAY, E-cell, Placement cell, etc. The university has a campus library for students. It is one of the largest agriculture libraries in Asia. Classrooms have adequate seating space with smart boards installed for digital education. There are auditoriums, workshops, and practical classes for different courses. Providing gym facilities for the students is one great thing I like here.
Hostel Facilities
There are 22 hostels for students in the university. Each hostel is designated for different course students. Hostels are spacious and have good infrastructure. A specific budget for the welfare of hostels is there which is used to repair the hostels. Hostels have over 100+ rooms each comprising 3 students. Almirah, bed, chair, and study table are given. There are washing machines in some hostels too. A gym and sports ground are given too. The hostels have a cafeteria system. Food fees are 20 thousand per semester. Food quality is good and depends on the hostels. On average, food is good and has variety. Hostels are alloted during the admission process.
Admission
For addmission to BTech gbpaut, you need to clear the jee mains exam and score a good rank in it. The addmission went smoothly the staff was very reliable. For BTech, you should aim for a 1lakh rank. The university has a state quota of about 85% reserved seats for domicile candidates and the rest for all india seats. Addmission requires lots of paper works.
