Likes

Campus life is good. You get great exposures with the seniors and faculty
2 big grounds are there for sports activity
Placements are good, more than 150+ companies participate in the placement process.

Dislikes

Attendace criteria,you have to maintain a minimum of 75% attedance otherwise your grade will be deducted.
Mess food , the menu is great but sometimes the food is not.
Hostel condition,old hostels are there with negligible renovation

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because I had an interest in it. The faculty and students ratio would be 1 : 3 (approx), considering that there are 50+ faculty members for 200 students in the department. Faculty are highly qualified and have great knowledge. Need to attend classes regularly to understand better what going on in class. Some of them are friendly in nature and some are strict. There are basically 3 theory exams for a subject per semester(CA1, Midsem, Endsem).

Class Size: 200Course Fees: INR 27600 per year

Internships Opportunities

For internship opportunities, many big companies come such as Microsoft, cisco, salesforce, Texas Instruments, Bny Mellon, adobe, etc. The stipend varies from company to company. The internship process starts at the starting of the 5th semester.

Placement Experience

For internships At the start of 3rd year, companies come to the college for a summer internship program and one can also apply off campus. For placements Companies start coming from the very first month of your fourth year. Highest package(2022-23):70 lakhs. Average package(2022-23):13.5 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

For general category students, academic fees are around 72K (approx), and for students with a reservation quota(SC,st,obc) or students with family income less than 1 lakh fees are around 14k(approx). Refer to the college website for more details or any kind of fee hike.

Campus Life

There are basically 2 fests, one is tech fest (Aarohan) and another one is cultural ( Recstacy) which is the 2nd largest cultural fest in eastern India. The library is very good and you can find all the books there. 2 grounds are there for sports and extracurricular activities.

Admission

Eligibility is You should clear the jee exam with 95+ percentile(if you are general category), or 90+ percentile(if you have any reservation quota) with a minimum of 75% in class 12. Admission is Through josaa and csab counselling. (Dasa for foreign students). Benefits are Refer to the college's official websites for any kind of benefits after admission.

From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements and there are plenty of companies that come like in my branch there 35-40 companies (core) came and no of offers were 30.Placement percentage was around 95%.Median package was around 7.5lpa and highest was 15lpa.Well my plans are not decided yet, currently in my 2nd year.

from 6th semester the student become eligible for campus placement.Companies like google ,microsoft , apple etc visit the campus.the highest package offered around would be 50 lakhs and lowest would be 5 lakh.around 70 percent of the student get placed.i want to get placed and do the job then slowly i want to start my editing agency.

Placement Experience:

The placement of the college is not that much which I expected but not also very bad the highest package of the college is around 51 lack and the average package is like 11-12 lack and the median of the college is 10 lack pretty much good and placement percent is around 88 percent of students placed every year

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally i opted for electrical and electronics instead of the branch of my choice is because my scores were not enough to secure a seat in CSE. But EEE is pretty cool as well for those willing to grow in this branch. Our curriculum exposes us to the rapidly growing sectors in the industry and educates us of all we need to know about the course in depth. If you want to continue ahead in a research field, this Institute is the most supportive. The exam questions are also relevant enough and considering we only need to actually stress over end semesters, its fair enough per semester. It would be better if our professors removed the attendance criteria rest im fine with everything else

NIT durgapur is one of the good option for btech if anyone is not qualified to good and old IIT. Nit durgapur has ranked 4th position among all NIT's and 30th among all engineering college including all IIT's in NIRF ranking 2021. Admission is done through the qualification in JEE mains. As my rank in JEE advanced was not so good to secure a seat in IIT and my desired branch. so, I was trying to get a seat in top NIT. Thenafter jossa councling I got placed in NIT durgapur and in Metallurgical and Material science engineering. For jossa councling I was in guidance of Mr. Amit ahuja who is the chief counsellor of Allen Kota. It is highly recommended youtube channel for jossa councling.
