Course Curriculum Overview
As per my JEE rank, I got Biotechnology in NIT Durgapur and it is totally based on your JEE rank and choice filling. The faculties are very good in the Biotechnology department if we talk about the faculties and students ratio it's nearly 1/6. All the faculties of NIT Durgapur are well educated, they all have completed their Ph.D., and their teaching methods are very good, NIT Durgapur conducts two exams each semester i.e. Mid-semester eaxm and End-semester exam and these exams difficulty level is moderate and predictable.
Placement Experience
Yes, the CDC(Career Development Centre) of NIT Durgapur arranges internship and on-campus placement opportunities for students who are eligible for the process. Many companies like JP Morgan, Microsoft, Accenture, TCS, etc. do come for internships and placements on campus from the 5th and 7th semesters onwards respectively. The overall placement percentage is above 85 percent. I am planning to get a job on campus and gain some work experience.
Fees and Financial Aid
As NIT Durgapur is a college under MHRD being a government college its fees are the same as other government colleges. Per semester tuition fee is 62,000 for our batch and it also varies yearwise. There is a waiver for fee structure for students based on their category and annual income. Students may also opt to take bank loans from banks whose branches are available in NIT Durgapur.
Campus Life
NIT Durgapur has set a very dynamic campus life apart from the classroom as there are many clubs, and social communities from various domains that are administrated by the student body and a decent fund is provided by college administration. Many clubs like SAE, BMEP, CCA, GLUG, etc. organize technical and nontechnical fests named Aarohan and Restacy annually.
Admission
The entrance test for getting into the NIT Durgapur is JEE (mains), you need to score at least 89% in JEE and it varies yearly, After taking the exam, we want to do the JoSSA counseling for the college. allotment. Fees for the entrance exam vary yearly. There are certain Reservations for castes like SC, ST, and OBC.
