- 75% attendance is said to be mandatory but it is certainly not. My last year attendance is around 30-40%, so it is not an issue
- Around all the colleges in Meerut, MIET have the best placements compared to all other colleges.
- If someone is from Meerut, it would be great to do B.tech from here as you have lot of time to focus on your coding.
Dislikes
- Coding could be done only if you are self sufficient coder. The culture is not so highly supportive in term of coding.
Course Curriculum Overview
According to the marks achieved in my 12th class and JEE, I was eligible for the B. Tech(IT) course. In my class, the ratio is around 1:60. But generally considering most of the classes on the campus it is a bit low and around 1:40 which is quite good. The faculty of the college is well and all the professors have done master's or Phd. only a few faculty are on an internship basis and the majority of faculty are full-time. MIET conducts term exams two times in a semester called sessional exams which are 1.5 hours generally and a pre-university test (PUT) which is held one time before the semester exam and is of 2 hours. To pass those exams the student has to learn all the basics and a few advanced concepts to get a good 85% + marks. They lie in the category of moderate to hard.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities at MIET College are highly regarded for their enriching experiences. Students have the chance to intern with well-known companies like TCS, Infosys, and Wipro, where they engage in roles such as software development, data analysis, and quality assurance. Campus Life
Life at MIET College is characterized by an active social scene and numerous opportunities for students. The annual fest, "Kolaahal," is a prominent highlight, typically taking place a few months into the academic year. The tech fest showcases students' technical talents. The library is well-stocked with books and journals, accessible through a one-time book fee included in the main fees. While classrooms are spacious and well-ventilated, air conditioning may not be available. Sports facilities exist, but participation is selective. Extracurricular activities, including hackathons, are more prevalent in the first year. Students can also engage in various student-run groups and clubs to enrich their campus experience.
Admission
To be eligible for admission, the candidate must have scored above 60 per cent in physics, chemistry and maths in their 12th class boards examination. Also, the students who have appeared for the JEE examination get an edge if their percentile lies about 40. The application form can be found online on the official website of MIET and on the college campus itself. Reservation benefits not only impact branch allocation but can also provide scholarship opportunities, making education more accessible and affordable. The website could be well managed by the maintainer and should contain a more user-friendly experience to streamline the process of application forms and other various registrations.
