Course Curriculum Overview
I was more interested in the drawings and design works so I thought Yeah let's take civil engineering and it will be full of drawings and all. But the truth is that after I got admission I realized that for Btech students there are not as many drawing sections as I expected, We only had graphics paper as engineering drawing and understood civil engineering is a vast area and we have many other things to explore and the teaching faculties at STCET were most of mtech graduates and there were 3 faculties in our dept with Ph.D. and also from IITs their knowledge of subjects is good..most of them are friendly and helpful. sometimes we have a problem with syllabus completion.
Internships Opportunities
Internship and workshop oppurtunities are provided by the placement cell and we personaly can apply for an internship then college faculty will guide us. once an arms tech construction and training company came and they conducted an exam and took away qualified students for the traing program with stipend from the civil dept One of the students was my classmate.
Placement Experience
From the 3rd year onwards we could attend placement interviews and many companies used to approach our college but mostly IT companies as I was in civil dept the construction companies were very less or NIL. In our batch, most of the students got placed and many offer letters but the only disadvantage was the offers were not from the core companies.
Fees and Financial Aid
If we are admitted to the college under state merit for me the tuition fee is INR 50000 per yr and if we choose management seats the fees will be almost INR 85000 per year there are also fee waivers applicable for the students based on their income.
Campus Life
The college has a good campus and it's really a beautiful place and well-maintained infrastructure and the atmosphere is really peaceful, you may feel like you are still in a school and have to wear a uniform.
Admission
Candidates who have passed 12th examinations with physics, mathematics, and chemistry as their compulsory subjects with an aggregate of 45% are eligible to apply. I Got admission through the KEAM entrance exam conducted by the government of Kerala and the category allotted to me was state merit (SM). So the tuition fees were fixed by the government as INR 5O, OOO per yr and as it was a self-financing college they had many other fesses like special fees, placement training fees, etc. and at the time of admission, we had to pay 1000 Rs as admission fees and caution deposit of INR 10,000 (Refundable) and the 2023 year cutoff was 48567 for KEAM. 50-50 merit and management seats are available and at STCET a class comprised of 60 seats for each branch.
