Maharaja Surajmal Institute - College Review

The course curriculum is very good. You learn a lot of things down the line about applications and development. Also, the teachers here are good based on their teaching experience and their way of teaching. The student and faculty ratio is 1:10 which is 1 teacher for 10 students in a class can be seen. Also, the exams handled here were good, sometimes the exams were not as early as we wanted them to be compared to other colleges but also they more or less took it on time.

2 internships were offered by the college itself. One was of SAP labs which offered a decent amount of 15k a month for 2 months internship. And the second was Honeywell, can't remember how much it offered.

You become eligible after the completion of 2nd year 4th semester. From the starting of the 3rd year 5th semester, companies start to come. SAP labs came and offered a CTC of around 5 LPA. Deloitte, Accenture, and Infosys offered around 3.5 lpa. And other startups offered around 8 lpa. The highest package was offered by a start-up which was 9 LPA, can't remember the name and the average package here is 3.5 lpa. 85-90% of students have taken placements here while some of my batchmates are preparing for govt exams, and some of them didn't sit in the placement. So, on that basis, there's a 100% placement chance, but a lot of it depends upon your skills and the work you do, so getting a placement is wholly up to you and your skills.

A fee hike was not an issue here. The only time some more amount was taken was at the time of admission other than that, it was not an issue. The faculty is very supportive of the students, if we go and ask for anything they are really helpful. The scholarship is there, but I don't have any idea about how to avail myself. Companies that come here are good such as SAP Labs, Deloitte, Accenture, Infosys, Wipro, Coding Ninjas, and some start-ups. And offer a decent package ranging from 3.50 lacs to 8 lacs.

The campus is neither too big nor too small. We always roamed around the campus whenever we got time. But the faculties always tried to get us back in our classes, so the bunkers lane is a good place to go to at that point since the faculties only moved us from the ground. The canteen was decent till the time we were there, but there was a new canteen that was going to get built. There are 4 different fests inside the college organized by 4 different societies so they can be fun. Some of the societies are NSS, Synergy, Antara-Encore, Prakriti, and CSI. A decent number of books are available in the library you can take them for 7 days, but for some books like the Bhagwad Geeta, you can only read them in the library.

To take admission to IPU you have to take a test called CET(Common Entrance Test) and based on the marks you get on this test and the preference of your course, you would be allotted a college. There are reservations for different types. Some of them are well known, while one of them is the inside state reservations. To qualify for any college you have to qualify on what is the cut off for the outside state students. You can find the application form on the IPU website itself, for that you need to register in the portal first.
