Course Curriculum Overview

4

I had a keen interest in mechanical engineering and as per my rank also I was getting the course. There is one faculty per 60-70 students. The faculties are good and highly qualified as well. There are 2 term exams mid sem and end sem. If a student studies for the last 20 days seriously then he can get good grades.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

In my branch, many automobile companies and psu provide internship opportunities and campus placements. We can also work under some professors for some project work which gives us the experience that we need for campus placements.

Placement Experience

4.5

Students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester onwards. They can get internships and pre-placement offers from the same company and also there are huge numbers of companies visiting the college for jobs.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a fee of 124000 for the first semester and 99000 for the rest of the other semesters. You can avail of scholarships by applying for different foundations and also bank loans for financial help. Also, you can earn by doing some online work.

Campus Life

4.5

The annual tech fest is innovation. It is the largest tech fest in eastern India. There is a central library with a plethora of books. Classrooms are air-conditioned and sports are encouraged as well on the campus.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Each room can easily accommodate two people. There are 2 beds and 2 tables and a cupboard in each room as well. Hostels and mess are affordable as compared to private colleges and food is average. I haven't yet rented any room outside the campus.

Admission

To be eligible to study at NIT ROURKELA you have to qualify for JEE MAINS which is conducted by NTA. After that based on your marks, you gate your respective college and branch. There is a quota for SC/ST/OBC and EWS through which you can avail reservation for seats.
