What Students Say

Likes

VIT Campus which is known for its lively and active social life.
VITS' annual cultural fest "Riviera" which is the largest cultural fest in south India
VIT's tech fest "Gravitas" gives opportunities to take part in different hackathon.

Dislikes

Have to walk for around 15 to 20 minutes from hostel to academic.
The temperature in Vellore goes around 35 to 40 degree celsius.
Mess food something that I don't like at all.

Course Curriculum Overview

VIT provides ffcs (fully flexible credit system) which gives flexibility to choose teachers and subjects of a particular branch. The CSE branch is good in vit and has good placement records. The ratio of students per teacher is 70:1. Faculties are highly qualified. VIT conducts(Continuous Assessment Tests) CAT 1, CAT 2 after 1 month of gap, and FAT(Final Assessment Test) after 2 months of CAT2. Passing the exam is not that difficult. CAT 1 and CAT 2 are conducted for 50 marks which are converted to 15. So CAT1 and CAT 2 both combined are 30n= marks only and FAT is 40 marks and the rest is assignment and quiz.

Internships Opportunities

After completion of the 5th semester, you'll start receiving emails from CDC (Career Development Cell) for an internship. Before completion of the 5th sem, you need to have some projects done and build your CV. Stipend depends on Company to Company.

Placement Experience

Placement in VIT is quite good compared to other private college. After 6th semester students are eligible to seat for placement (eligibility: no standing arrears). The average package is around 9 cgpa.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure in VIT depends on the candidate's rank and the category of the branch. If the rank is below 1000 in VITEEE, a scholarship will be provided based on their term and condition. On-campus Job especially for CSE is quite easy.

Social life at the Vellore campus offers a vibrant and enriching experience for students. The Campus provides a diverse range of opportunities for socializing, learning, and personal growth. Vit boasts a wide array of clubs and organizations catering to various interests and hobbies. VIT's central library is well-equipped and houses a vast collection of books, journals, research papers, and digital resources.

Admission

VIT conducts its own entrance exam called VIT Engineering Entrance Examination. To be eligible for VITEEE, candidates must have completed or should be appearing in the final examination of the 10+2 system. The application forms of VITEEE are generally available on the official VIT website (www.vit.ac.in) during the application period. Candidates need to register, fill in the required details, upload necessary documents, and pay the application fee online. VIT takes candidates on the basis of VITEEE rank and which category the particular student belongs to. The category is divided into 5 parts. And with the increase in the category, admission fees increase. VIT releases the cut-off after the VITEEE examination results are announced. The cut-off rank varies for different branches of engineering.

Life and Difficulties at SRM University from honest POV

Placement Experience:

the placements start from third year. there are multiple oncampus companies that visited like juspay,zs associates, cognizant,accenture,capegemini and etc. the average package is aroung 5,00,000 the percentage of student is around 60-70 around this year but its still going on by this march.

KIT is an amazing college due to its academic focus without compromising on the extracurriculars. The college has a good hostel facility and a wifi enabled campus for the students. The college focusses in quality education by giving both practical and theoretical knowledge.

I applied to a few colleges for Btech Biotechnology but I finally chose VIT, Vellore because it clearly stood out in terms of academic qualities, facilities, and career prospects. I applied to several universities including SRM University, manipal Institute of Technology., and a state government college. SRM confirmed my admission but I chose VIT because of its Biotechnology Reputation, state of the art labs, vibrant research environment and exposure to industry collaborations. manipal rejected my applications because the entrance exam rank was slightly lower below the closing rank that year and I believe competetion was too high there. My Life inside VIT'V

I applied for tnea college and got my seat allocated in normal private engineering colleges B.tech cse. I applied for 2nd round too and got my seat allocated in a normal safety college but beside these studying in int mtech in vit vellore is better than studying btech cse in normal private college. LIFE AT VIT

I choose VIT for the following reasons: 1. The ambience and the greenary of the campus . The campus is almost 372 acres which is a pretty decent size. 2. The safety of girl students. Well I first dreamt of going into IITs, NITs and BITs, but due to my health issues, I didn't get the expected marks and so I can't make it in that college. At the same time, I have given the VITEEE exam as well , and fortunately I got this exam cleared with the good rank, and so I got Data Science as my second priority in VIT vellore and hence by suggestion of my seniors , I made my mind and taken admission in this college. One thing I must tell you, this college is not so good in comparison to BITs, NITs and IITs, but Its so much better than rest of the private colleges.
