- Placements are very nice, many students get super dream packages
- College life is quite amazing, as hostel are quite happening and everyone unites into joy of each other.
- Campus is very nice and peaceful and it gets seceinic during monsoon and fall.
Dislikes
- Too much of crowd, there is more 20000 people currently on the campus.
- College is a little far from the Chennai City or any other Metropolitan, that makes airport access or any other service which is specific to something quite difficult.
- Hostellers can not get out of their hostels after 9PM, even though you have two different zones seperated by railway line.
Course Curriculum Overview
Faculty members are similar to any other college, VIT Vellore just has a better student-to-faculty ratio. Most of the faculties are very good in their fields and most of the time they are very kind towards your questions. Faculty members are having degrees from top colleges in India as well as abroad, Many of my faculties did their research abroad in countries like the US, Canada, and South Korea. Exams are held every 5 weeks, they have CAT1 CAT2, and FAT for the whole semester and assignments and quizzes.
Internships Opportunities
Companies come for the role of SDE, SWE, DS, MTS, and many other standard roles which are offered by companies. Some companies like DE Shaw, Trexquant, JP Morgan, and many others companies are there for internships, they offered stipends of almost 1.5L.
Placement Experience
Placement starts in June of the final year, basically the start of the 7th semester. Almost 800 companies visit the campus to offer various levels of packages to students. There are all widely known companies as well as startups offering packages till 1.05Cr. VIT claims 100% placements. After my degree, I will be going out for experience and might go ahead for my Master's.
Fees and Financial Aid
Haven't heard of any campus jobs or financial assistance till now, Also tuition fees are constant once they declare it to you but each year for new admission they increase it. When it comes to affordability, I think it is on the student how his lifestyle is, either the student can choose to have dominos every day, or can have mess food instead. There is no way one cannot opt for mess, if you are a hosteler you need to have mess registered otherwise you won't get hostel as well.
Campus Life
Life depends on the student again, he/she may like the environment or might create his/her own. There is one tech event called GRAVITAS and another is RIVERA which is a cultural fest, that happens every year and there are other events happening all the time. VIT has a huge library, books are available for every subject and topic one can think of.
Admission
The process is totally online, you need to give Exam VITEEE. You get a rank then you need to go to fill your choices of all the branches and campuses in preference order. There is no specific cutoff or anything but there are categories in fees, like better the rank, lower the category, lesser the fees. You can find the application form on vit.ac.in. Mostly happens after mains and before jee advance. There is no reservation or privilege for anyone applying to the college.
