Remarks

The best thing about the college is its infrastructure. It is a huge green campus. You sit at the open-air theatre to chill out with your friends or even study under the blue sky in the chilled environment. DTU is a great college but the problem is it is situated in the outskirts of the city, hence it sometimes become difficult to reach out to the market and mostly all the things have to be done by you only, like there are very less people to help you out with your minor projects or studies. Professors are available but not all the time. Considering the Cultural and co-curricular activities, DTU is the best.

Entrance Preview

For every B.tech aspirant, it is important to appear for JEE Mains examination. The selection for DTU is based on the All India Rank(AIR) which is based upon the scores of JEE Mains. There is a 40% weightage of JEE mains and 60% of class 12th scores which is followed by a college counselling session. For the admission in DTU you need AIR rank of less than 10000 approximately, further it depends on the counselling and number of admissions as well. Right now I am pursuing electronics and communication technology, My interest for microcontrollers and robots made me choose this field of engineering but I would suggest that one must do some research on the kind of field they are interested in, otherwise it becomes very cumbersome to deal with the subjects.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Initially the branch diversifies in different topics like electrical science, electromagnetic induction etc. but as I moved further, the course dealt with specific topics related to electronics and communication like digital and analog communication etc. After some basic knowledge, we can chose our field of interest through the electives subjects provided by the college.

Internships Opportunities

Companies like Qualcomm, Toshiba, Tata Steel, Mazares, Tata Power DDL, Deloitte turn up for internships in DTU. They provide internship to 3rd year students with an incentive of PPO i.e. Pre-Placement Offer. Some companies even conduct a written examination for particular branch students. Most companies require an aggregate of above 60%, while some might demand 70%..

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements on an average are pretty good in DTU. The top recruiters include Accenture, KPMG, Adobe, Microsoft, TCS, Deloitte, Sapient etc. The international highest package was of 1.27 crore till now and for domestic it was 30 lakh per annum. On an average, CSE students are offered 12-15lakh per annum and ECE students are offered 8-10 lakhs approximately but it is very much dependent on the CV and interview of the candidates.

College Events

4

At DTU you won’t be missing fun elements like fresher’s week, dandiya night, stand-up comedy show and of course Engifest, which is the Annual cultural fest. Last year, we had artist like Sunidhi Chauhan, Nucleya to turn up heat. The footfall went upto more than 40,000 students from over all 240 colleges from India as well as from abroad.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since DTU is a government college, it is very affordable. The complete 4-year course of B.Tech amounts approximately 4lakh. For 2015-16, the tuition fee was 57,500. There is a onetime refundable security deposit of 6000 payable at the time of admission only. A development fees of 15,000 per annum and student activity fee of 12,000 makes a grand total of one lakh per annum approximately.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, as far as I know, the college does not provide any kind of scholarship. The college is government-funded institution so the fee structure is in itself pretty much affordable.

Campus Life

5

The college aura has always promoted extracurricular. Apart from studies, it also excels in sports, music, dance and many activities that help us to become an excellent and well versed human being. I have also been a part of many cultural and co-curricular activities in the college. As I love to dance, I have participated in the on stage Dance performance on the Dandiya Night and even organized Dance competitions at the cultural fest of the college, Engifest.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Yes, I am a hosteller. The hostels in DTU have a capacity of around 1400 students, including girls. The hostels are provided with facilities like Television, Hot water, gymnasium, badminton court etc. truly speaking, hostel life at DTU is amazing, you make great friends, play counter strike and group studies to get good grades at the end.

Alumni/Alumna

DTU has a very good network of Alumni, interacting with the Alumni is easy and helpful at the same time. My personal interaction with the alumni is pretty good.

Exam Structure

Examination days are really tiring but college hostel environment and support from the teachers make it easy. Teachers provide power point presentations and notes to the students, there are tutorials to practice for numerical and get a hint of theoretical questions that might appear in the examination.

Faculty

4

DTU has one of the best faculties in the country. Most of the professors have completed their PhDs in a specialized field of engineering. A student needs to show certain interest, rest teachers are always available for you. Professors are always ready to help you in your minor, major projects and I am telling this from my personal experience that they even dig out their own contacts to get you a good internship. Some teachers are very much interactive; you can even sit with them and talk about your personal life etc.

Here placement is average as many opt for higher studies the reason behind this is maybe because only a few companies visit. In which TCS is a mass recruiter. The average package here is 3-4 lakh per annum and the highest goes up to 6lakhs per annum. Here placement ratio is about 50%. I will also opt for higher studies after getting a degree

College management needs to work upon just the placement cell and needs to invent new methods to keep uninterested students glued and up for studies.
