Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose the course of BA LLB as I always had a wit towards knowing about our rights and duties available against the various atrocities and wrongdoings happening around us. Specifically speaking, I wanted to learn more about female-centric rights, such that I could help those women who are downtrodden in society via masculine dominations and disparities. In Sharda University the faculty to students ratio is around 50:1. Almost all the faculties teaching at Sharda University in all the branches are either Research Scholars who are pursuing a Ph.D. degree or are Ph.D. degree holders already, with a minimum experience of 3-5 years of teaching. The term exams took place exactly after each of the 6 months. In order to pass the examination, one has to focus merely upon the syllabus provided, and the content taught by the faculty in the class.

Internships Opportunities

4

Currently, I got an internship under the firm of Pradeep Rai and associates. Under it, I was given up the role of legal drafting, summary writing, and note-making of all the cases. The projects provided included the analysis of leading cases such as the Keshvanand Bharti and the People's Union of Democratic Rights cases.

Placement Experience

4

The students become eligible for the placements before the penultimate semester of their respective courses. The various Company which visits our college includes HCL, HP, Khurana and Khurana, Amarchand Mangaldas Associates, and so on. The highest package in our college reaches around 60 lacs, and the average package is 6 lac rupees. Around 40-50% of students get placed on a yearly basis. After completing the degree I am focussing to join a corporate firm as a corporate lawyer.

Fees and Financial Aid

The Sharda University's fee structure for BA LLB for the students who took admitted in the Year 2019 was 8.5 lacs for 5 years The fees hike policy was only limited to transportation and hostel fees, and no increment in the fee structure was made for the tuition fees part, throughout the span of my 4 years to date.

Campus Life

4

The annual fest of our college is named Chorus. It takes place every year in the month of March. The books are available in abundance in the library. Apart from that, Sharda University has one of the biggest Central Library in Greater Noida. Our college campus has a basketball court, along with 2 badminton courts and a volleyball court. Our college has a sports club, students welfare club, and Legal Aid cell to provide help to needy citizens.

Admission

I qualified the admission in the course of my choice i.e. BA LLB through giving Sharda University Admission Test(SUAT). Any student who had passed his/her 12th board from any of the affiliated boards whether ICSE/CBSE/State Boards should have a minimum of 60% marks. The application form for SUAT can be found on the official site of Sharda University i.e. sharda.ac.in The admission process is rather a very transparent process, however, what is required is little strictness towards the quality of the questions asked in the interview conducted after the passing of the test, so that the good quality students could enter the campus and further flourish it's quality.

Placements for law school are very very low indeed and out of total 180 students not more than 20-30 even get placed. Seminars and top brass are invited to guide students how can they take their career forward but not many direct placements happen.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well structured and is divided across 10 semesters so that the students don't get overburdened. The three year llb gets hectic. That's why i chose this course. The curriculum includes moot courts and drafting which is very helpful for further pursuits in law. The mandatory presentation in each semester builds confidence. However, I'd suggest preparing students for moot courts by focussing more on the moot court society will further sharpen the eloquence of the students. The exams are conducted twice in a semester and are moderately difficult.

Not many as placements are less and just a handful like from a batch of 180 in all, 30-40 students are placed from campus. Mostly it's the two tier law firms that comes and offer us quite less as well.

Placements are not many and to be realistic only 25% students or so get jobs from here. It is quite less indeed but that is how it is and some corporate houses who have branding issues are the ones that hire some students from here. Most students try to find joh outside only.

Students from third year have started getting Pre-Placement Offers, but many of those are majorly due to their own accomplishments. Students get ample amount of time to intern at various law firms and courts, to secure a PPO on their own. In addition to this, the Internship and Placement Committee, often comes in aid to secure PPOs for the students of the graduating batch.
