Remarks

As my title says vvc is the best college to pursue the bachelor degree in engineering, the college supports the students in each and every field, the college canteen is good as usual, the food provided was also fine. The campus is good, faculties try their best to make the students understand the concepts. Finally i am proud that i studied in vvc mysore.

Entrance Preview

I wrote the Karnataka common entrance test [KCET] in which I got a ranking of 8000+ (approx), My hometown was Mysore I wanted to pursue my bachelor degree in my own place so I took up this college, and one more reason was i was interested in electronics. No there was no interview process carried out.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose the course Electronics and communication, this was the best course in my college. There was a lot focus given on the practical learning, our faculties gave a real-time example in the labs which was pretty much interesting. No there was not much research initiatives taken by our department during that time.

Internships Opportunities

No there were no internships provided by the college, Sometimes students went around the city in search of the internships, that time neither companies asked the engineers to have some internship in any of the companies.

Placement Experience

4

The placements during that time was not at all good because we were experiencing the recession i.e around the year 2009-2011, due to which we did not get placed only few around 15 out of 60 students were placed . The maximum package which our department got was around 3lakhs per annum.

College Events

4.5

There were lots of events happening in the college such as placement training, workshops by different department. There were lots of fests named VIDUYATH which was a technical college fest which was open to all the students basically inter-collegiate competition.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I got an admission through cet seat that was an government seat, i paid a total fees of 58000INR for one year in which 14000INR was the college fees and the rest fees was the tution fees(engineering fees). The fees during that time was pretty much affordable it was not like burden and all. The yearly fees did not include the exam fees we had to pay it separately.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yeah they were providing the scholarship for the deserving students, but i didn’t get any scholarships, the other backward classes got the scholarship every year, college helped them get the scholarships.

Campus Life

4.5

Yes students got lots of opportunities to explore their talents since lots of events gave an awesome platform for all the aspiring students to come forward and showcase their talents.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I didn’t stay in hostel, friends say there were 3 sharing rooms, food was not that good.

Alumni/Alumna

No there was no alumni network in our college when i was studying the alumni cell started in the year 2009 and i guess now the alumni cell is pretty much active.

Exam Structure

There was only one subject per day, in one semester they conducted 3 internals , best of two was taken into consideration before sending the marks to the university. It was a kind of tiring. We did not suffer much in our final exams since sufficient study holidays were provided from the VTU university.

Faculty

5

Most of the faculties were M.tech degree holders, two were having P.hd degree , during that time our HOD was pursuing his P.hd degree, The faculties were really awesome in terms of teaching courses, they had enough experience also. They were interactive with the students, for our faculties i would give an A+ grade.

Placement Experience:

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
