Course Curriculum Overview
The course is extremely helpful for students who want a career in teaching and this was the main reason I joined this college. Student to teacher ratio is 5:13. The professors in our colleges have a minimum of a doctorate in their subjects and provide running notes and highly informative lectures. Exams take place every semester as our college is affiliated with Calcutta University, the exams are easy to pass, and is a bit difficult to score a first class.
Internships Opportunities
The companies providing internships are TCS and Cognizant and both companies provide stipends to their interns. Our college provides certificates to attend workshops and webinars which definitely enhance our cv. Overall I feel the internships and placements will disappoint.
Placement Experience
The students are eligible for campus placements from the past semester that is from semester six. The number of companies visited is around 10 and the no of offered is near about 20 but there is a catch not all students are placed as it is completely based on merit and only a few can make it to the placement list. The highest-paid package would be 40,000 and the average would be 20,000. The percentage of students getting placements is a bit low. My plans will depend completely on the result of my last semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are to be paid on a semester basis and the self-financing subjects are to be paid separately. There is no scholarship that is available by the college specifically but the government scholarships can be easily available.
Campus Life
The annual inter-college fest that takes place in our college is Samagam. Different renowned colleges take part in this fest and it continues for 2 days. We have one of the best libraries in Kolkata and it was also once featured in a newspaper. The books are best for reference purposes and can help in achieving good grades. Although we do not have a good number of sports events it is more than enough.
Admission
Admission is completely based on merit. All information regarding admission to our college is available in the college portal. Reservation is provided only to Christian students. The admission process is time-consuming there should be necessary changes in this area.
