Remarks

This college was situated between the jungles of Mesra village. So, having greenery all around you is the best part of the college. Management has so much power that if they could use it for the right reasons, these bright minds could change the world.

Entrance Preview

AIEEE (300000+ rank). BIT, Mesra is a 2nd Tier college. BIT has a strong network with corporate that visit the college every year for placement opportunities. It is a fact that almost all students get placed in the companies that visit for the placement process.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is standard, like any other Tier 2 Engineering College. And like any other college, there could be some improvements/changes. The curriculum insists on learning obsolete technology while the world has moved on. Especially practicals, where the completion of files matters more than practical knowledge.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, BIT, Mesra provides internship for PhD students and Master students. Not aware of the general stipend and never tried an internship so no experience as well.

Placement Experience

4.5

Almost every student gets an opportunity to get placed. Major companies like Wipro, CTS, TCS, Accenture hire students in bulk at average packages, while Google and Microsoft hire the cream at brilliant packages. A drawback of the placement system, which is common to almost every college is that backlog papers restrict one's eligibility for appearing for most companies. For 1-2 backlog papers, you literally leave behind potential future leaders of the world.

College Events

4

PANTHEON, BITOTSAV, CHETAN DEVRAJ MEMORIAL CRICKET TOURNAMENT, ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET and VAJRA are some of the events that are well organized by the students. Events related to music have been brilliantly promoted and executed by the students. Sports events are lower in number but deserving students are well facilitated.

Fee Structure And Facilities

based on the facilities in labs and hostels fee is not worth it. Like any other educational institution, the board ends up minting money. But, this fee is well compensated by the value of the degree that BIT has, even internationally, So, though expensive, yet worth it.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are available for candidates who have performed exceptionally well in academics. I never performed exceptionally well, so I have not idea about these privileges.

Campus Life

2.5

Extracurricular activities are always promoted here. Especially robotics is a branch that was highly facilitated and promoted. Debates, competitions would take place every now and then. Was never interested in these so do not have much idea. Sports is decently facilitated.

Hostel Facilities

1

Hostel facilities are pathetic. It's like living in prison. The food, especially during first two years was awful, however, quality improved by 0.01% in the following years. You would want to use the loo at night and you will realize there is no water, so you end up running to different hostel buildings. Drinking water is almost drinkable. However, the most important part of hostel life is the LAN connection which was decent enough.

Alumni/Alumna

One cannot comment on senior students as a whole because is varies dynamically from person to person. Some people have been raised in a way to act authoritarian as far as seniority is concerned. On the other hand, some don't care about the seniority and are just helpful human beings. I have no idea about the alumni network.

Exam Structure

Exam and lab schedules are stretched out decently with enough time for learning an understanding. Only in rare cases would the exam schedule become hectic. It's the retake exams that are scheduled during summer vacations that would get hectic. With permutations and combinations of multiple exams for re-ake, one would end up with two exams on the same day or back to back days.

Admission

I got admission in an international branch in Muscat, Oman on the basis of merit. After completing my first year in the international branch, I got transferred to BIT, Mesra. The process involved getting no dues clearance certificate and a No Objection Certificate from the Dean of Admission from Muscat branch. Also, a document showing proof that neither of the parents has an NRI status, specifically considering for Oman. After producing these documents to the Administration of BIT Mesra, my transfer was complete.

Faculty

3

The faculty is a source of immense knowledge. Every professor deserves to be in the position that he/she is in as far as knowledge is concerned. But, not every knowledgeable person has all the qualities of an educator. Moreover, every student has his/her own way of learning. Not catching up with the mundane techniques of most professors, does not imply that the student is weak. Professors should be more concerned with making sure each student learns rather running towards finishing the course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually my branch is Electronics and communication engineering but my major interest lies in development area , i have gained all the skills in my college by my own taking some guidance from the seniors as they are very helpful and supporting. Improvements in course curriculum could be like they have to basically add one more course or any training program to help students for making skills and teaching them for their placements.(apart of the course , i am saying not because i am from ECE department , its common from any branch student)
