Course Curriculum Overview

4

The Course i Choose is Computer Science and technology, i choose this course because i wanted too, The faculty-student ratio is quite qood there is a teacher for every 40 students , The Teachers are often Ph.D. scholars most of which i have encountere, and the teaching method is quite good as oftenly you can choose which teacher you want to select for that Particular Subject, every semester there is FFCS(Fully flexible Credit System) which means you can select what subject you want and what teachers you wold wish to have, The exams are periodically almost every one and half month , First there are 2 CAT(continuous assessment test) and there is a final test Final Semester Test(FAT). The CAT are for 50 marks you need atlest 15 to pass and in FAT the limit to pass if atleast 50 , Every subject has option for either 2 DAs(Digital Assingment) & 1Quiz or 1 DA & 2 Quiz which is decided by the course Teacher.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

I haven't been offered any internship yet but you can easily apply for an internship if you are skilled enough in a Startup here in VIT if you are in 2nd year you can get many opportunities for internships like Google, Microsoft, Delloite, and TCS.

Placement Experience

4.5

The students are eligible to take campus placement from 3rd year and you can apply for internship from 2nd year. The motors offered 1.2 crores CPA and the average salary is 8.19 lakh CPA. 863 companies visited and 7412 were placed in the year 2022. My plans after getting the degree are to get placed in a company and after 2-3 years to continue further studies depending on the circumstances of the job offered her.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no fee hike policy for the students studying during their 4-year program, The cost to study is different for everyone depending on their rank they get assigned to 5 categories there is no management quota that I know of, Categories 1 - 198000, category 2 - 304000, category 3 - 402000, category 4 - 452000, category 5 - 500000 The hostel fees is different depending on the room you are assigned, but for freshers, there might be a difference in fees, You can get a scholarship if your rank is under 1000 the other info is on their site(about the fees cut due to scholarship), No you can't get any job in the campus with stipend but in the third year you can get stipend if you help in research paper with any professor but I have not seen much students doing so.

Campus Life

4

The Annual fest name is Riviera (in February) and the Tech Fest's name is Gravitas, the Riviera is quite good, it lasts for 4 days and lots of colleges and universities apply for the competition in the Riviera there are a lot of competition happening side by side and lots of fun competition which every student can apply for and anyone from outside can also apply on the riviera site. whereas Gravitas is the same tech fest happening in September it last for 3 days lots of clubs in VIT take part in the Gravitas, Every book and journal is there in the main library which we need for our academics and the main library has easy-to-issue books. Amenities in the classroom are decently sized for 60 students, and there is a projector and board for studying no acs are required as the PRP is designed to dissipate heat but often while traveling back to the hostel you will feel the heat. there are many social groups and clubs run by students in VIT there are 92 and lots of chapters.

Admission

So the main criteria for admission to VIT are VITEEE the application form is available on the VITs site(viteee . vit.ac.in), and I got a rank of 14000-15000, The process for counseling was quite simple I was asked to fill my preferred Course and the Types of Cataegory I would be able to afford on their Site which they sent to my Gmail which I applied in my VITEEE application form. I was asked to fill out at least 15 minimum courses I would like to apply for including the category of fees I would apply for. There are no reservation benefits, And I think the applying and counseling process is quite simple.

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
