Remarks

Good thing is that this is really a people's university any one can study there. Other best thing is BPP program, any one can get higher education and on demand examination facility is very good for working personals. University conducting practical examinations also. Bad thing is they sometimes lost students assignments and they does not declare result in time and subject changing is some difficult.

Entrance Preview

No Entrance for BSc. After a shock which is given by DU, a crash landing in IGNOU. IGNOU is only option for me in the terms of my financial condition. Taking admission in IGNOU is very easy, no interview, no Entrance. I have decided to do BSc because I am a science student.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Very good course, study material provided by the university is very easy to understand and very helpful. As compere to the other open institutions IGNOU is the best because they also focus in practical learning, I have completed my practical research examinations from Gargi College DU. IGNOU also provides assignments for students. Very flexible elective options students can choose their own interest.

Internships Opportunities

I don't know because i was never invited or informed by the university.

Placement Experience

2

I don't know anything about the placement scenario as a BSc student i never invited by any major company and for any good job instead of data entry operator, computer operator and call center. They never disclose package information correctly.

College Events

2.5

IGNOU is offering almost all courses for students. IGNOU have millions of students so i can't provide correct information about fests and footfall but yes i can say that they were absolutely huge.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Very affordable institution, lower fee for every course as compare to the other institutions. I am doing BSc my fee is Rs 3500 per year for three years it is Rs 11500 and exam fee Rs120 per paper.

Fees and Financial Aid

University provides scholarships for special category students. I never availed any scholarship because i am from general category (Brahmin). May be university help in getting some loan for some special students but i don't know.

Campus Life

4

Good in the terms of extracurriculars but unfortunately I never attempted any. It's not less than like a Bollywood movie, adventure, action, drama, trouble, etc. But amazing and wishing for a happy ending.

Alumni/Alumna

Good alumni but some times very irresponsible.

Exam Structure

Some times we are very tired because we have do all the lab activities in between 7-15 days depends upon the credits. Regular students do these lab exercises over the year but we have to do in one to two weeks. Some times you can see chill culture also but problem in chilling is students don't know each others and teachers also don't know anything about students this is the only difficulty.

Faculty

4

The faculty is provided by the university highly qualified and experienced in their department. My study center is Gargi College DU entire faculty is highly qualified there. Most of the study centers are govt. Institutions you know that how qualified they are. They are very interactive and masters of their departments most of the faculty have doctorates in their fields. Standard of teaching is simple and quit high,as a student i can feel the knowledge of professors amazing. But as you know we are open students, we are are going to college Sunday of every week that's why we don't swim in the sea of knowledge.

I will rate 10 out of 7 to this course curriculum because in this course the experiment and lab works is too low as compare to another courses like biomedical science, bsc zoology and many more. But it's ok I'm happy with this course.

Students become eligible for placements on the 3rd year, we have decent placement opportunities but not the best, highest package is around 15 lakhs. Companies that visit are Bain and Co., Urban Clap etc. average package is around 5 lakhs. My plans after getting the degree are getting into a master's programme and pursuing research.
