Decent College

I wanted CSE at a good govt. College and this was the best option amongst the rest options that I was getting. Talking about faculty to student ratio it's roughly about 1:60 in the first year and it reduces further years because the first year both the branches CSE and ECE have combined classes. All the teachers are highly qualified, and all of them are holding Ph.D. degrees. Some of them are retired professors from IITs. Most of the teachers teach well, though some have minor problems which include pronunciation issues etc. Our first year is only 9 months. so it's a bit hectic. Two exams are conducted basically mid sem and the end sem. The difficulty depends on the faculty, some are easy to pass, but some are tough ones really.

Students are getting internships in the very first year. Rest internship opportunities are very good here. Most of the students get internships in the second and third year in big MNCs and startups and some of these get PPOs.

The fee includes Rs.90000 which is the tuition fee, 10500 which is the institute fee, and 15000 hostel and 16000 mess fee. There is no fee hike policy as of now. There are some scholarships given, I don't have any idea about the same.

Life at the campus is okay. On the one hand, you don't even have your own campus, We are residing in JUT Science Campus as tenants, and there is no Canteen facility. But, on the other hand, We got great hostel facilities, rooms are spacious enough. The classrooms are decent .. Library opens just for the sake of the name. The rest remains closed. Fests are conducted. Recently a Cultural fest was organized in our college (Emphere). Sports facilities are not good honestly.

Hostels are the best part of the college. Hostels are flat types. Consisting of either 5 students or 8 students in a flat where 2 of them are in each room and the last two are in the hall. Rest in each room has an attached washroom.

To enroll in IIIT Ranchi, one has to give the Joint Entrance Exam(JEE) - Mains and achieve a rank of less than 35000 to secure admission in the CSE branch and 40000 to get admission in the ECE branch. There is a reservation for the SC/ST candidates but I am a general category student so I don't have many ideas about that. Every year JEE main examination is held in 2 phases each year. Around 10lac students give this exam and around 50000(gen) students get selected for admission in Govt. Funded colleges including NITs, Iits, And GFTIs.
