If you from hindi medium background, you can suffer a lot.
you have to keep motivate you by yourself, no one is going to help.
less personal interaction between professors and students.

Course Curriculum Overview

I wanted to do Btech cse and MTech, so I joined an IDD CSE course (B.tech+M.tech) for 5 years. the ratio is around 1:30. Teachers are very much qualified. they have done Ph.D. in their relevant areas. Mid-term exams come in every two months and every 6 months, there will be an end-term examination.

Class Size: 65Course Fees: INR 100000 per year

Internships Opportunities

IIT Roorkee is a brand and one of the finest college in India, so a lot of companies looks for IIT students for Paid intern. There are departmental projects and you can search online too as per your interest.

Placement Experience

The placements are good. you can start by 3rd year. there are top companies who visit every year. highest packages - more than 1cr avg package- 10 lacs. 80-90 % of students can get easily any job. I want to go for a start-up and exploring in life.

Fees and Financial Aid

IIT Roorkee is govt college, so the fee structure in not very high, anyone can afford and there are bank loans available. cost to study is around 1 lac per year. There are st/sc scholarships and if you have talent, there is a dean of student welfare available.

Campus Life

Thomso is a cultural fest and cognizance is a technical fest. thomso is in October November and cognizance is around March. IIT Roorkee has the best library in Asia, so you can imagine, it's awesome. yes, there are bathrooms near classes and drinking water available. there are many sports grounds for cricket, hockey, football, etc. there are more than 10 groups and clubs which you can join as per your interest.

Admission

you should be 12th in physics chemistry mathematics. IIT JEE Exam conduct every year, and you can find it easily on the Internet. yes, there is a reservation available for St, sc,obc,pwd. Yes, it should be more transparent.

IIRS Dehradun, A Synopsis

Remarks:

For the higher studies in Remote Sensing & GIS, IIRS (ISRO) is the best institute in India. The personal preference would be Masters over the Diploma course since the Masters programme includes a 14 month project towards the end of the course, in which the researcher gets to work under the guidance of experienced scientists from ISRO. A drawback of the course would be that the syllabus is demanding and the exams are tightly scheduled.

Glimpse of 125 year old Technical Institute of India

Remarks:

As my previous experience was in Bridge Engineering , so on the basis of that IIT ROORKEE is best among others ,as it offers a course named as Masters in Structural Engineering with diversification in Bridge Engineering , which makes to choose this Institute specifically over others.Admission took place though multiple doors :- First is through GATE Score without any GD or PI or both Second one is through Sponsored Category like of mine Third one is through Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) For more information on admission you may refer to IIT ROORKEE PG Admission latest Information Brochure.I think it is not a Bad aspect of institute , but Institute must do certain reforms in it's admission process as till now IITR took admission directly on the basis of GATE SCORE for M.Tech / MURP courses which , but I will suggest that in future IIT ROORKEE must took admission for the same programme through GATE Score as well as GD or PI or Both , result of which it increase the opportunities of many relatively lower GATE scores candidates to took dream of doing their Masters from reputed IIT ROORKEE For Dates Tentatively application started from the month of April every year Last date to submit the application - last of April Results announced through COAP portal ( you need to separately register yourself on COAP portal to participate in the counselling process of all IIT's) in multiple rounds along with some Additional round & spot round I don't search or see any forum or websites or blog while selecting this college because in my previous company I made many visits to IIT ROORKEE by which I came to know many more about it automatically .

IIT ROORKEE - A SCRUPULOUS REVIEW

I took part in jossa councelling and got it . I was happy with any of seven old iits . In better way , i would be happy in going any top iit. Moreover i choose it because of it's weather and location. Rest all things are similar to all top iits. Nothing is less in iit roorkee. You have to give jee main then jee advanced. If you get good rank , you will get this college. You will have to get air under 5000 to get in iit roorkee or any top iit....Read More

1st year opinion of IIT Roorkee

I took admission from JEE (Main+Advance).Form could be found on NTA website. Some reservation benefits were , i got a bit higher brancher even though my rank was lower. Mains timing are morning shift and evening shift. As for advance it runs all day for 6 hours(with a break of 2 hour in between). Mains is easy , advance is a bit difficult....Read More

JEE advanced has to be cleared to get into any IIT. For the branch I'm in, the crl should be around 4k for general boys and 8-9k for general girls. Application fees increase every year at least from my time till now it is increasing and now it is more than 1000 for girls and around 2000 for boys(general)....Read More
