Place to build yourself mentally

After completing my M Tech I got life time tag of IIT with me name which always feels me proud. It was life changing experience for me. Overall my experience is outstanding.

I Have done B Tech in Biotechnology from LPU and then I have cleared GATE exam and got good percentile. Based upon it I have applied and Get admission. I have choose Pulp and Paper Technology because this course if offered only at IIT Roorkee and all the passed out from here are at well post in international and national industries.

Scholarship for M Tech is provided by the MHRD. I get Rs 8000/- per month at that time which is now Rs 18000/- per month.

All the passed out students from our batch are well placed at good posts. As a starting package most of them get Rs 20000/- per month as trainers which get increased in consecutive years. Some students went to abroad for PhD degree. Name of IIT itself make a great impression among recruiters and foreign universities.

The fee is very less including the hostel and mess charges. The fee can be paid by students itself from their scholarship itself. I Think fee was at that time around less than Rs 40000/- including all the tuition, exams, hostel and mess charges. So students can easily pay their fee from their scholarship.

Lot of scholarship facilities are arranged for students. I also get MHRD and DAAD scholarship for M Tech.

Before joining at IIT Roorkee I once visited the campus and discussed with seniors regarding future aspects of course and they well guided me.

Exam structure is very simple and with clear vision. Exams were held in the university itself. They are not only focused about the final exams but also for the internal exams and regular evaluations. So they are evaluating the students throughout the year.

The faculty at IIT Roorkee is well experienced. Selection process is also very tough. Most of the teachers are either having more than 20 years of experience or having Post Doctorate degree with them. They have well planned lectures and are using visual aids.
