Course Curriculum Overview

4

I am a botany student, the cause of choosing botany for the future of my agricultural background. The faculty is very good and the lab is great. I took admitted to this college because of the lab facility. All batches have 26-30 students. A great thing about the teachers, they all have Ph.D. degrees but some are RESEARCH LEVEL. So, great effort from the teacher and great learning. Exams happen in 6 months. If you read properly for 2 months You can get a Great Score (A).

Placement Experience

3

5th and 6th-semester students become eligible for campus placements.. all placement happens online. Wipro, Tata and many biochemical companies coming but in my mind, the highest package offer maybe 18000 sometimes for the role of a lab technician. 15-18% of students get placement every Year. Join a lab and do MSC in Medical Botany.

Fees and Financial Aid

Here is no hike policy about fees and costs around 35000-40000Rs. But if You have some problem contact the PRINCIPAL, he/she must help you. One thing I want to clarify is that there is no financial assistance or jobs, But Here are Scholarships like Anil Chandra Gupta Memorial Studentship, Bhupendranath Memorial Scholarship, and Swami Vivekananda Scholarship.

Campus Life

3.5

Annual Fest is different Names in different Years. But no tech fest happening in the past few years. All Departments have their libraries but have a main Library. You Can Find 95% of books and journals. Once a Year, sports and extracurricular activities happen, like carrom, badminton, etc. on campus. Here are no clubs, no website for students run by students." BUT HERE IS A UNION" runs by politically connected students.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

You get a bed, fan, light, water all things in a room. (2 bedrooms or 4 bedrooms). The meal is greater than Average. You can get one-time meat, 5 time fish and egg and vegetables in a week. For registration, go to Calcutta University-Main Campus 1st Floor Office and rent 200-500 per month. Surya Sen Street is the best place for Hostel.

Admission

Eligibility: 12th Pass from Any State Board Exam in Science Background (Scored More than 55%). You Can find the application form on the college's official website (bangabasi.ac.in), application form fees are between 200-300 rupees, If You Want to join the college, please look up daily (after the 12th result) college website for important admission dates. No Reservation Benefits. The admission process is smooth, like completely online.

Placement Experience:

Eligibility depends on the companies requirements. Usually in the final year you start preparing for interviews. Our placement cell was very active and it tried its best. TCS, Berger, PWC etc etc visited our campus. The packages are not known to me very surely, so would avoid quoting one, but take ballpark around 5lacs, which is pretty impressive considering the job market for non-engineering freshers. Majority of the students are inclined towards higher studies and government jobs, and the cell arranges for their preparation as well, and quite reputed ones. RKM is known to have a strong history of students getting top government jobs. Those who wished to have job, not all, but many have got offers. Although still I would say there is room for improvement.

Course Curriculum Overview:

First of all University of Calcutta is so unpredictable. Here we heared that a sem goes for 6 months. But really speaking you won't get that much time. Maximum of 4 months you'll get, some time less. The syllabus is vast. You've to study well to get passed. And the question standard is between moderate to hard level. Marks getting is not that much easy in University of Calcutta. But if you want to choose Physics you'll get opportunity to get the engeneering course in CU rather than your masters. And the campusing here in CU for engeneering courses ar very good also.
