Remarks

This college is really good. It provides Joyful Learning. It'll develop you not only as an engineer, but also as a future citizen of the society. You can give time to your hobbies and extra-curricular activities balancing your academics.

Entrance Preview

I qualified MHT-CET exam with 170 marks. This college is the best college after COEP in Pune, so I opt for it. Admission process was a typical process without any interview.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Curriculum is a little different than those of Pune University colleges. Actually it is less than those colleges. Not much focus on research. You will study 5 subjects each semester. They have mini projects each semester. It gives you opportunity for application of what you've learnt. There you have some scope for research.

Internships Opportunities

Internship facility depends on branches. Computer, IT, EnTC branches get more such internships while Mechanical, Production rarely get any internships. Stipend is very low and in most of the cases there is no stipend. For comp,IT stipend is good, ranging from 5k to 20k.

Placement Experience

3

Again, placements depend on the branches. For Comp,IT,Entc branches, placements are very good. Almost every person w/o backlogs can get places. But for mechanical, production, chemical placements in core companies are average, somewhere around 50% or less. Some of the regular recruiters are Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Eaton, Atlas Copco, Kirloskar, Tata Elxi, Tata Tech, etc

College Events

5

There are three major events that are celebrated in college. VIshwakarandak, Melange and Vishwostav. Vishwakarandak is an inter-department event, in which various departments are given points according to their performance in various competitions. Melange is an inter-college events in which participants form colleges are also allowed. Vishwostav is kind of annual gathering and days.

Fee Structure And Facilities

For open category students, fee is somewhere around 1.3 lakhs. Fee is in the same range of other private engineering colleges in Pune. Considering the faculty, lab facilities, etc fee seems to be feasible. There are some other colleges in pune where fee is less than this, but those are less in quality of education.

Fees and Financial Aid

No such facility is available in college. But, in some departments, their is facility of earn and learn. You have to help teachers in their work and for that you will get remuneration.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus of this college is kind of small when compared to other colleges in Pune. College ground and Parking is same. But, in terms of extracurricular activitys and sports, you have a lot of scope in VIT. There is a culturual group which pariticipates in drama competitions, other grooups participates in Robocon, Baja, Supra, etc. Sports activities are also given support.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

Hostel facility is something this college lags behind. Hostel is 2-3 km far from the college. There no any kind of transport medium available from hostel to college. You have to change transport 2-3 times to reach college. It's preferred that you have your own bike if you want to live in hostel. Mess facility is also below average. They just do not change curry and you will feel like eating same thing everyday. It is advisable that you live in a flat nearby college.

Alumni/Alumna

Recently college has taken firm steps to build up alumni network. They also hold alumni meet every year. In all, college has a good alumni network.

Exam Structure

As this institute is autonomous, they have their own exam structure and that is very good. Each semester has 3 tests viz. class test, mid-sem, end-sem test. Mid-sem test is online test. Their marking scheme is also somewhat different from Pune Uniersity colleges. Syllabus is divided for each exam while end-sem exam has all the syllabus.

Admission

After CET result, I got this college via CAP round. Admission forms were online, but we had to submit its print along with our documents in the college on a specified date. The process is very easy and college staff and non-staff members are very helpful in any problem occurs.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty of college is very good. Many of the senior professors are PhDs. Almost all faculty is PG on respective discipline. They are very helpful and there are very less teacher-student conflicts. Their guidance during project is very crucial. They have a system of feedback in ehich you have to give feedback to teachers on various criteria like communication skill, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Soo ever since kid i was interested in bikes this interest was all for me to take this course , my father is very bike enthusiast and it came down to me , i could easily take mechanical and other engineering cause these are common courses which involves automobile , but since i wanted to follow my passion , i wanted to do specialization in automobile itself and DPCOE was offering this course with great facilities and knowledge providing us a path in this lane of career in this field. According to me curriculum prepares us quite well as they conduct workshop which are relevant to outside world where we'll be working. If there were more practical workshops for us to work on would be great cause automobile engineering is all about practicals rather than theoroticals Professor should try teaching in physical part rather than taking lectures and explaining the concept by just words

Yes there is placement cell of STES which is no different than other tier 3 engineering colleges offering a tier 3 average package depending on who is the recruiter. Students become eligible for campus from 3rd year of their degree. Highest package is something around 55 lakhs offered to a computer engineering student, and average is just like I said for a tier 3 college 5-6 lakhs(above or below). Almost everyone gets placed in the company but some might not.
