Course Curriculum Overview

Civil engineering provides a huge opportunity in the government job domain which is the foremost reason I chose it. The first-year course will be the same for everyone irrespective of the branch. Exams are moderate but subjects like BASIC ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING AND BASIC ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING should be taken seriously. The faculties are well-qualified.

Class Size: 74Course Fees: INR 310000 per year

Internships Opportunities

There is a portal provided for third-year students for internships. Consultant and SWE roles are offered. Internship amount range from 10000-150000. You need to be good in certain skills like DSA and have relevant projects to grab opportunities.

Placement Experience

Third-year students are eligible for internships and final-year student can apply for jobs and campus placements. The highest package offered was 85 lakh/annum by Atlassian. My main job profile includes software engineer, consultant, and management trainee. I want to go for UPSC.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are high and are revised every year you can find the cost on the website. You can avail of GP BIRLA SCHOLARSHIP if you perform well in semester exams. You can avail of a 50 % scholarship on different grounds. Caste-based reservation is also available.

Campus Life

The campus is very large but mainly trees and vegetation. Campus Life is good but not much good. Bitotsav is the annual fest and is generally organized in January or February. The Library is the best part which is rich, you can avail all the books required. Classrooms are equipped with projectors, AC, and comfortable chairs.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels service are provided to everyone. Double occupancy is provided in the first year and single occupancy from the second year onwards. Mess food is moderate with deserts present every day. The room is provided with a bed table and a chair.

Hostel Fee: INR 38000 per year

Admission

Admission is generally done through JOSAA AND CSAB, but a spot round is also conducted after CSAB at the college. OBC candidates from Jharkhand need to apply directly through the college website. Application is generally released for BC1 AND BC2 Candidates after Jee main results.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

At BIT Mesra for our departments many cpre companies like Tatva Chintan, Laxmi Organics and Kanoria Chemicals were among some listed companies that came for placements. Luckily we are less in numbers and therefore 90% students from our batch were placed from here. My plans after getting the degree is to pursue masters from US.

I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. Actually This college was in my list but as a last option as i was getting RVCE and BMS few reputed colleges of bangalore but my parents insisted for this college as this college carries a good brand name of BIT,Mesra. Yes, Due to my not so good performance in JEE Mains I did not get the college i was hoping for. A student should first appear in JEE Mains and score a good percentile to get in to this college.
