Remarks

Minimal ragging is there around hostel premises just so much that it might help seniors and juniors get to know each other.. As usual management is all about making money.. but at least they are providing good infrastructure for learning and they have a good tertiary care center for exposing students to bedside clinics.

Entrance Preview

I took JSS UGET which was a conducted by JSS university. It was based on 12th standard subjects. I got rank 243 and was able to get a seat at JSSMC mysore.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course is very good for research as there are lot of proficient doctors who are already into research. Also there are lot of incentives for students who get into research starting ICMR and lot of other orgamizetions offer scholarships and incentives for students who are into research

Internships Opportunities

Every medical graduate should complete an year of compulsory rotational internship according to rules of MCI. We will be posted to JSS Hospital mysore for internship. Stipend will be 8000 per month for UGs

Placement Experience

3.5

Neither JSS university nor JSS medical college are obliged to offer placements for candidates who pass out of the college.. There are no placement opportunities whatsoever.. Since many students usually pursue a PG degree i guess it doesnt matter much

College Events

4

All national events are celebrated routinely.. Other than that there are fests that are organized by students as well as staff.. Generally this would invite around 3 more universities for participation. Fests would have all kinds of competitions from debates, to dirt bike racing(yes thats right)..

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is expensive. for first year it would be around 7 and half lakhs for UG and around 15k less for subsequent years, PG fees are around 12 and half lakhs per year for merit seat and around 60 lakhs for management seat for a clinical branch. Hostel facilities/Living expenses extra..

Fees and Financial Aid

They have gold medals for each subject that you write exams for. The best outgoing student award will be given to the student who scores the highest marks in aggregate from all years.

Campus Life

4.5

Generally it will be 65:35 female to male ratio.. Majority will be from kerala, andhra very few are local students. Sports and other competitions will be held during fests.. Of course they are all the places where u will be able to show your talents off.. It will be fun while you are at the college..

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel is just okay.. Most of the time it will be a 2-sharing or a 3-sharing room.. There are laundromat facilities at a price.. Mess food is very bad..Lot of garlic for everything.. Considering that you are better off living outside.. There are lot of PGs around.. rents are around 6000-9000 per month and they look decent..

Alumni/Alumna

Yes i guess, i mean when u live in hostel you will be living with your seniors and they will shed light on how to study, how to approach exams, and our future career options.. you will be doing the same when u become the senior too..

Exam Structure

4 professional exams. 1st year has 3 subjects, 2nd year has 4 subjects, 3rd year has 3 subjects, final year has 4 subjects. There will be 3 internal assessments per subject so it is going to be very frequent.. There wont be any MCQs in the question papers..

Admission

Application form for entrance test will be offered for anyone who pays for it through a challan at JSS university office..Admission was through a centralized computerised comunselling following biometrics verification. After this we can opt for hostel facility.. It will take a whole day for the counselling. This will be usualy during june-july of the year.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty are all very kind and considerate. They help students with anything they want to learn.. Sometimes it just feels like they are controlling us through attendance but hey thats how it works in deemed universities.. But just keep in mind that everyone in there know their stuff..

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
