Course Curriculum Overview

4

as computer science, engineering is a trending stream. also in future the new technology like ai is also done by this branch. the faculty members treat the students like they are their own kids they help us with all the projects and the ideas that got up in our minds.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

they are many opportunities for the internship program that is managed by our placement team. many companies like tcs, wipro, etc. offer a software intern role to our students. the faculty members help the students to do good in their projects. like we have the rising department for project management. recently our students got 1cr funding from the government.

Placement Experience

4.5

the placement scenario is maintained by the placement teams. many reputed companies like Microsoft and tcs and wipro and many more recently visited the campus and offers many high packages. Recently the highest package was offered to a student of 56 lahks.

Fees and Financial Aid

the fee structure is quite good. we have to pay the fees semester-wise. and the semester fee is paid one month of the final exams. they are benefits for Bihar students like the bihar sarkar credit loan. also for the sc and St, there are some other scholarship offers.

Campus Life

4

The campus is very good they are many events that are performed by the students, especially the Parivartan event. the sports activities like gyms and tracks are made on the college campus the campus is full of trees and plants for better respiration.

Admission

the admission process was quite good. we have to register through the online website and then you have to pay the fees for the registration which is like approx 10k after that visit the college and pay the remaining fees.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
