Remarks
Overall it is an average college. You need to study on your own. Make your way on your own. Only thing you get is a Degree and then no help or guidance in terms of placement. The fee structure is cheap, being a govt college. You may only want to go to this college if you can't afford more fees in private colleges.
Entrance Preview
I got admission into this college on basis of Merit (All over State merit). I opted for this college as it was nearby my residence and also was getting admission to my preferred Engineering branch (i.e., E&C).
Course Curriculum Overview
I did not do much research at that time. Had got some reviews from friends and relatives. Hence, selected Electronics & communications branch. According to me, the better way to select the course, would be to check with the Students who are already studying in that college in final year as they would be having better insights as to which branch to select (keeping in mind, the scope of employment after completing that course).
Internships Opportunities
My college was a government college and it does provide any internship. Hence, no stipend. No companies come for campus hiring. Companies will go to private colleges for hiring. Had to attend the campus interviews by going to other private colleges.
Placement Experience
There was no placement assistance provided in our college. Hence, none of my colleagues were placed by my college. Few got placed by attending campus interviews in other colleges by their own efforts. Government colleges does not take any initiatives to get the Companies to their campus. Students have to make efforts on their own.
College Events
Cultural events used to take place like Annual fest. Tech Fest were not conducted in the college. All the functions were handled by students and took place with the initiatives of students only. College management did not show any interest in such events.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure was quite flexible as it was a govt college. The fee structure was as per Govt norms. Around 2000 rupees per year. Other expenses included travelling and study material which hardly costs around 4000 to 5000 per year. Hence, overall cost will be under rupees 10,000 per year.
Fees and Financial Aid
No scholarship or Loan facility offered by this college. I opted for an individual student loan from a government bank.
Campus Life
Campus life was not that interesting as No activities took place in the campus. No parties. No workshops. Gender ratio was more inclined towards high Male students as it was engineering college. The campus facilities were good in the sense, it was newly constructed and was much spacious.
Hostel Facilities
There was no mess or Hostel. They were under construction when i passed out from the college. So, we had to opt for PG's. The average rental was around 5000 to 8000 per room shared between 3 to 4 students. The locality was average. No facility where we can get some good food at daily basis. There were few places where food was served at home by taking some charge, which was good for students.
Alumni/Alumna
No Alumni network created or even if there might be one, there wasn't any kind of interaction with the seniors. No such initiatives taken by college management as well.
Exam Structure
As it was a government college, No faculty was bothered about the preparations of students. Hence, it was a chilled out environment. Labs happened as per the schedule but the equipment were very lees and that too not all in working conditions. Exam happened only at the end of semester. No weekly exams were taken by college management.
Admission
The admission to this college was based on Merit. i did not had to fill any form but had to refer to Merit list issued by Government. From the merit list, i got my State rank and date (to go for admission). I had to go to Ahmadabad for admission and had few options (in Gujarat) to select based upon my merit. The options were like which college is having how many seats left for any particular Engineering branch. I had to select any one of them.
Faculty
This seems to be difficult question as we rarely get a chance to know which faculty will be teaching which subject as the Faculties keep on changing and there is no facility we can attend their class before admission. Only way can be, meet the students already studying there currently in that particular course (which you are willing to take). They will be able to give best feedback.
