Remarks

College is good but you'll have to work hard to get here. The college management is a bit slow however the college has already built a lot of culture and structure hence works fine.

Entrance Preview

I took IIT JEE in 2016,I scored 132 marks. This was the best combination of branch and IIT I was getting.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is similar to other old IITs. Focuses a bit on research and mainly focuses on the theory part which makes the curriculum a bit rigorous. It could have been better and more electives should have been given. Mostly the courses are fixed for each stream and you get to take only some electives according to your interest.

Internships Opportunities

Our college provides research internship to students of our college and of other colleges too, the internship is mostly unpaid. Companies do not come in college to recruit for internship but students are able to grab paid and unpaid internships because of the name of the college.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are extremely good for non-core engineering courses. For core engineering courses the opportunities are lesser still better than most colleges in the country. many students from core engineering courses take non-core jobs cause they pay better. placements for core courses are getting better each year with public sector companies visiting.

College Events

4

Here we have our own technical fest techniche, cultural fest alcheringa both attracts a good amount of footfall. Then we have performance art festival, udgam (entrepreneurship fest),research conclave. These all tests are the biggest in north-east India.

Fee Structure And Facilities

If you are a general/obc category student have annual income more than 5 lacs than you have to pay a tuition fees of 1 lac per semester and other fees amount to 20K per semester. While there are various criteria of fee remission for students having lower income or belonging to any category.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship is provided to those having income less than 1 lac and SC/ST(slab 1) ~ zero tuition fees. Those having income less than 5 lac (slab 2)~ 1/3rd tuition fees. vidyalaxmi loans 0%interest rate for those having income less than 9 lacs.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is good with all campus activities taking place regularly. Gender ratio is very bad 1:8. diversity is pretty good, students from all over India come here. labs are well equipped.sports, robotics, debates and many more activities are conducted.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostels are very good.Equipped with all facilities like juice centre, canteen, own mess, library, indoor sports rooms tv room and a common ground.everyone is given single rooms while there is common bathrooms mess food is sustainable not too good or bad. hostels are enough to accommodate all students. average rentals is 12k per semester.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is good getting better with efforts of alumni relations cell. Senior students are pretty helpful. There is no trace of ragging or any such thing.

Exam Structure

normally there are 2 quizzes, 1 mid semester and 1 end semester examination in each semester.Though this can be altered by professor. Lab exams are conducted just once or twice in a semester. Not too many exams, the exams are pretty chilled out. Though the day gets hectic because of strict 75% attendance.

Admission

I gave JEE-ADVANCED and got a rank of 5337. Based on my jee rank I filled my choices in josaa counseling. and eventually got this in the last round of counseling and got admitted here in civil engineering tech 4 yr course. Since it was simply by josaa counseling, the process was smooth.

Faculty

3

All faculties are PHD in their respective fields. So the standard of faculty is good. Research is increasing day by day in the campus. They are interested in teaching their subject and are quite sound in their field. The only thing is lectures are a bit rigorous as the professor wouldn't try to make the class interesting.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute. The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.
