Course Curriculum Overview
After completing my HSC in science, I wanted to pursue Computer Science and after Considering many Colleges I decided that I wanted to go with Pillai College and I guess that was the best decision that I made for myself. The faculty and teachers are very supportive. They help you with your research projects, they focus equally on practical as well as theoretical knowledge. There are 6 semesters in this course each being conducted after every 5 months.
Internships Opportunities
Since the start of the 4th semester, the faculty started to share internship opportunities with us. They helped several students get placed for internships. One of the companies I got an internship is grizla as a web developer intern.
Placement Experience
After the 5th semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. There are many companies that visit our campus such as TCS, L&T, Wipro, etc. The Average package offered is around 7 lac. Around 80% of student gets placed through college. After my Graduation, I will be pursuing a master's degree in Computer Application.
Fees and Financial Aid
The over all fee for 3 years in BSc Computer Science is around 1.2 lac. There are scholarships available for students based on their merits. The placement cell conducts various job opportunities. The faculty even helps with getting internships.
Campus Life
Not only academics but there are various opportunities to nurture your talents like sports, and dance groups such as Alite, and RTN. Singing groups such as Playlist. Also, many committees support your personality development. I am the head of the Computer Association, which is for IT and CS students. We have our festival called Bitfest where we host a variety of technical and non-technical events for the students. Being a member of this committee has significantly shaped my personality and taught me how to lead a team, manage my time, and function under time constraints. Speaking of fests, our college hosts one of Mumbai's largest festivals, Alegria.
Admission
I'm currently in my final year of graduation pursuing BSc in Computer Science. There aren't any entrance exams for admissions but you must score 80% above marks in mathematics and you must have pursued HSC in science. There are certain Reservation benefits available for SC, OBC related students.
