Course Curriculum Overview

2

I chose IT because it had a very great placement record with average packages upwards of 15 lacs per annum, plus it was what I was getting as per my rank. The student-faculty ratio is good enough, teachers can develop one on one connections with students. The faculty is highly qualified but their teaching methods can be a hit or miss. Some teachers are very good but many are not. Some teachers can be a pain to work with. Term exams were moderate in difficulty, passing is easy but scoring well is difficult. Though it doesn't matter as the grading is relative at the end.

Internships Opportunities

2

All the major tech companies come for internships for the position of developers, stipends can range from 30k to 1.8 lakhs. Though it can be hard to get an internship as the competition is high and the no. of companies is low.

Placement Experience

5

Students become eligible for placements after the 6th semester. More than 200 companies visit the campus for hiring, this includes all the companies you can think of, Microsoft, Google, and banking companies like Tower, Blackrock, and JP Morgan. Offers made are above 2500. The highest Package was around 2.4 crores this year. The average package for tech companies is above 20 lpa, for non-tech, it is around 12 LPA. More than 90 percent of students get placed, while others choose not to for different career options. It is easy. I wish to go for higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Every year, there is a fee hike of about 4-5 percent, and considering the already pretty high fee, it can make it difficult for students to afford. Fee concessions are given to students whose family income is less than 1 LPA, but these include very less students. There are many scholarships but the no. of students who get them is very low, plus the amount they give is not a lot. Students have to resort to loans to study.

Campus Life

4.5

The annual fest is called Engifest, which is one of the best in the country. It is held in February or March every year. The techfest is called Invictus which happens in the month of August or September. Other than these, there are many fests that happen like the E-summit, Homecoming etc. so the campus is always upto something. Books are always available in the library and one can issue them for the semester free of cost. The classroom has all the basic amenities though water can be a problem, and water coolers are placed at a distance. Sports and other activities are very good, there is an annual sports fest in which colleges from all over India participate. There is a club for everything, Panache for fashion, Sahitya for debating, Kalakriti for art, Vibe, and Nrityangna for dance, and many more.

Admission

Anyone who has cleared his JEE main exam is eligible to apply to DTU. The rank required depends on the course and the quota. For a general candidate, you need more than 90 percentile to secure a seat in the university. If you're aiming for top branches such as computer science, that percentile has to be above 98. One has to apply through JAC counseling online after the JEE main result is declared, and has to fill in the choices. I got the OBC category benefit because of which I was able to get IT, the second most demanded course after CS at a percentile of 94. Improvement I'd like to see is that they should provide accurate descriptions of the documents they require, it shouldn't be trial and error for us.

Other Applied Colleges

BITS Pilani (Pilani Campus) | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] {Hons.} (Computer Science Engineering)

Very high fees.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.
