Entrance Preview

I wanted to do an MBA to gain holistic knowledge about the business environment and, hence, I appeared for CAT. I prepared for around 4-5 months and devoted around 2 hours daily for the same. I took coaching from TIME, NOIDA, and the faculty there helped me a lot in cracking the exam. I had final admission offers from 13 B-schools including all the IIMs, MDI, FMS, IIFT, etc. I chose IIMA because of the world-class faculty, pedagogy, and alumni network. The 2 years I spent there have been the best years of my life.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The case-based methodology is followed across the courses and the students have to read up the course material and analyzed the case before going into the class. The case is discussed in the class and the faculty provides their insight. The students are asked to participate in the discussions and provide the basis of their own input the analysis they have done and also basis the experience they have had in their respective jobs/fields.

Internships Opportunities

8 weeks of the internship is provided. All the top-notch companies from the areas of consulting, investment banking, FMCG, etc recruit interns. Stipends are the best in the industry. More than the stipend, what is important is the real-time experience that you get.

Placement Experience

5

All the topnotch companies from the areas of consulting, investment banking, FMCG come for the placements Salary figures are the best in the industry. IIMA graduates are in leadership positions across the globe across the industries including consulting, investment banking, FMCG.

College Events

4

Confluence - Annual B-school meet attended by a student from across the globe. Top industry icons are the speakers and this is a must-attend event for every MBA grad.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very reasonable and the fee includes all the expenses on the campus including mess, hostel, academics, etc. The only extra expenses are the day to day ones like canteen and stationery etc. All the amenities including stationery etc are available within the campus and you don't need to step out unless you are going out for a party.

Fees and Financial Aid

All banks offer educational loans at zero collateral and at competitive rates. Scholarships are offered by top corporates and many students avail themselves of Need-based and merit-based scholarships are there In case you need it, you can ask the college also to get a loan sanctioned for you. This is very rare as the banks are very open to dispensing loans.

Campus Life

5

Male: Female - 70:30 Very diverse batch in terms of work experience, acad background, etc. Dorm parties are Ossum. The birthday of each and every student is celebrated by the dorm where guests are invited from across batches. All festivals are also celebrated. Note that the word "celebration" comes into your dictionary only in the 2nd year

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel rooms are really top class. There are different dorms. A dorm is a physical structure of 25-50 rooms and the dorm bonding is marvelous. Every student gets his/her individual room and the room is the same for the 2 years unless he/she wants to change it (which is very rare).

Alumni/Alumna

IIMA graduates are in leadership positions across the globe across the industries including consulting, investment banking, FMCG, and all of them are very helpful. You can reach out to anyone for any help at any time

Exam Structure

Exams are held twice every term. A term of 3 months. Mid-term and end-term exams are there. 2 exams in a day. All exams are a case-based and open book. No last-minute prep required. Regular learnings from the classes are very useful and to crack the exams, it is imperative that you be attentive in the classes.

Admission

CAT forms are out in around July / Aug. CAT is held in Nov. The scores are out on Jan. GDPI is in March / April. Basis the CAT scores, you get a call for the GDPI and basis your performance, you get the final admission offer. The whole process is very well-managed and after you get the admission offer, you have to send a DD of 500/- for acceptance of admission. You also have to get certain vaccinations etc done to ensure that you are medically prepared and fit for the course

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is absolutely top-class and most of them are "Gods" of their own field. The faculty does extensive research and also works with the industry in their respective areas. Therefore they are always updated about the happenings in their respective areas and the students benefit from their expertise. There are "pearls of wisdom" in every class and almost no student misses any class
