Remarks

College is new and has less infrastructure but its growing. Inspire of tough place, teachers try their level best to do the best they can and offer the best to students. The college will grow sooner and seeing the placement stats, it's never a bad choice.

Entrance Preview

I gave JEE MAINS 2014 and secured an AIR 24100. I wanted to opt for mechanical engineering only and so I took up NIT SIKKIM in counselling.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is good and the infrastructure is developing day by day. Also the faculties are very nice and helpful and an environment of research is apt for those interested. There are various platforms from where you can exploit research facilities in college and the faculties have links to the other IITs where they can fit us if needed.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, I got an internship in IIT Guwahati in my 3rd year summer vacations. I did a research project there and generated results.

Placement Experience

4

While writing this review I'm a 4th year, 7th sem Student and I've been placed in L&T Power. The placements ratio is around 80% and some of the reputed companies do visit the college. Like Microsoft, Intel, Power grid, L&T, Sun Pharma, Bosch, MCaFe are some of the companies that recruit from the college.

College Events

4

The college celebrates its annual technical and cultural fest separately each year. It's a total festival season and various events are held. Many great personalities are invited to give talks and shows are organised by inviting reputed superstars. Also, there are various debates and sports competition going on in the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is same for all the NITs and according to my eligibility I've to pay a tuition fee of 70K annually excluding other expenses. But the new rules are very flexible and it depends on the economic strata of a particular individual. As compared to any private college the fees is legible and also some students gets scholarships.

Fees and Financial Aid

I've not availed any scholarship particularly because ive not tried to. I was well off from family but many students have applied and got scholarships. Especially if you're a reserved category the institute will take care of the scholarship and make sure that you get it. For other open class students, it's a bit tedious job.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life is awesome due to the awesome weather we have here. It's sweet cold all the time and the place is a scenic beauty. Also the society is very good around the college and the crime rate is not here. People enjoy life here and they let others enjoy it too. The college conducts many extra curricular activities like debates, sports, workshops.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Around 90% students resides in college hostels only and we are alloted rooms on sharing basis. Upton 4 people can be accommodated in a single room due to lack of space. Also, there are 3 mess running in the institute. 2 for boys and 1 for girls. Some students do reside in PGs but hostels are preferred due to the location factor.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are very helpful with whatever they can offer to students. Ragging is a big no in the college and the interactions between seniors and juniors is great. The alumni network is not so great due it being a new college. Else wise, there are some alumni student of college who are helping with whatever they can.

Exam Structure

The examinations structure is very peaceful here. We just have a mid semester exam and an end semester examination. The lab exam is only for end sems. You can score nicely with good preparation and also the level is above average. There is some part of marks depending on assignments, Attendance and interaction and it's easy to score good in them. The end semester exams are held in the last month with lab examinations and it's compulsory to pass labs to go to next year.

Admission

The admission was from the CSAB counselling in 2014. We had to fill the choices as per our priorities and we were alloted colleges corresponding to our ranks in JEE Mains. After that we had to report to NIT Allahabad (zonal NIT) and lock our choices alloted in specific rounds by paying an amount of 10,000 initially. After that we had to register in the college itself till 26th August 2014.

Faculty

4

The faculties are nice and mostly new. They dont have much experience but do their task very dutifully. Interaction between teachers and students is good. The teachers are knowledgeable and teaches with enthusiasm. The faculties are enthusiastic to being changes to college and look forward to make students bright in their field.

I do not have much idea about this field. If I'm not wrong internships begin from 2nd to 3rd year itself, and placements from 4th year. The avergae package here is around 6 LPA, and the highest package offered is 56 LPA. That'll be all from side.
