Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose the course as I want to do higher studies in the field and have a career in the R&D field. I got to know that the university provides enormous resources and support in research. The curriculum is specifically designed for getting ready for industry-level research and basic research. The current faculty-to-student ratio is about 1 to 20. The exam system is a bit different from other universities, there are two Continuous Assessment Tests (CAT1 and CAT2) and a final assessment test (FAT), and 3 internal tests for each subject and in each semester. The CATs are 50 marks reduced to 30 and Fat is 100 marks reduced to 40 and three internal exams are of 10 marks each. Its grading system is relative grading. In the interval of each 20-23 days, there are exams. Internals are being held in between cats and fat.

Fees and Financial Aid

On the college website, the fee structures for each course are explained in detail. There is a time-to-time update for scholarships and job details or internship opportunities are provided directly to the student's mail. The fee for the course is around 80000 per annum which is reasonable as compared to other colleges.

Campus Life

4

The VIT campus is equipped with all the opportunities for social life, clubs, gyms, a swimming pool, cricket ground, table tennis courts, lawn tennis courts, indoor squash, etc. There are various fests being organized by various clubs, notably Rivera.

Admission

The admission process was through a merit list based on the undergraduate results. When I was going through the admission process, I was in my 3rd year and only have had 1st to 4th semester results, they made the merit list based one those results only. After the publication of the merit list, they sent a confirmation email.

Placement Experience:

From the last previous semester, students can avail themselves of campus interviews. Students who have Harriers are not given opportunities because it's in the companies criteria. Cognizant, Zoho, Infosys, Wipro. Every year at least 10 students get selected. Average is 10,000-15,000 per month 10-15% of students getting placed. I plan to study for competitive exams like UPSC.
