Remarks

Needless to mention, the faculty of arts is one of the best in the country but the fact that it didn't allow female students to pursue her degree from the faculty seems to be a bit awkward(of course! this problem has been rectified now). The fee structure supports the every stratum of the community to get the required university education.

Entrance Preview

I took Undergraduate Entrance Test (UET) conducted by the Banaras Hindu University in which I scored all India rank 51 in general category and rank 20 in OBC category. I opted for this university because the department of geography is the 2nd best department in India only at the Kirori Mal College of Delhi University. apart from the course, the fee of the university is quite nominal and they provide accommodation facility to the top rank holders too.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is of holistic in nature. The number of subject combination is diverse.one can pay attention to hone their own personal sports and co-curricular skills such as debating, quizzing, hockey, football, and all apart from studies are concerned. We also get the chance to study foreign languages such as French, Chinese, Nepalese, and etc.

Internships Opportunities

No, the faculty of arts does not provide internship but there is a provision of ''Earn while Learn'' at the faculty. In the program ''Earn while Learn'', a student need to do office work for two hours a day for fifteen days a month in order to get a stipend of Rs.2000 per month.

Placement Experience

3

As of faculty of arts is concerned, there is no provision for placement for an undergraduate student except for the students of economics-maths-statistics who may earn from 6-10 lakhs package. Most of the postgraduate student get placed in different organisations ABND companies like Azim Premzi foundation after completion of their master's degree.

College Events

5

Every year the youth fest ''Sanskrit'' is being conducted by the faculty in different events such as dance, dramatics, declamation, essay writing (Hindi, English, Sanskrit),elocution and debate (Hindi,English,Sanskrit) apart from lot others such as collage making, poster designing, Mehndi, and etc. the first three position holders awarded of certificates and the trophy and the topmost from each of the event get to represent the faculty at the university youth festival ''Spandan''.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for pursuing BA Hons is so nominal. It's about 3500 rupees per year as tuition fee which includes almost all the facilities like medical, library and other important facilities. The fee structure for an SC/ST candidate is still nominal requiring them to pay just 300 rupees for the entire year. Apart from the regular fee, admissions are also made for ''paid seat'' candidates who are required to pay 10000 rupees extra during the time of admission and at the next years of study.

Fees and Financial Aid

The Government of Uttar Pradesh provides the scholarship for the students of Uttar Pradesh. The scholarship consists of the total fee waiver along with 10,000 rupees. Students from other states find it hard to avail the chance to the getting a scholarship. Usually, no loan is required for this paltry sum of fee. Hence, there is no requirement for the loan facility.

Campus Life

4.5

The lush green campus with 1700 acres of the area simply fell in type. One can easily see the blend of different Caste, Community, Religion, and gender but the number of Muslim students was quite less as compared to Hindu students and the number of students from other community is also negligible. Till the last year, the faculty of Arts was non-co-educational in nature but from the new academic session (2017-2018), the intake of female students have been stated and the first batch of female would consist of about 90 girl students upon 500 male counterparts.

Hostel Facilities

5

The students pursuing Bachelor of Arts are being provided hostel facility in the campus on merit basis(merit being their rank in UET Entrance Test).once the hostel is allotted, it gets permanently allotted to the student for the entire course of study. The fee is still nominal again with just 3000 rupees to be paid for the entire year which also includes 2000 rupees of refundable caution money. The mess facility is the private one, students are being charged 40 rupees per diet and it has no share from the government subsidy.

Alumni/Alumna

Notable alumni like Harivansh Rai Bachan, Manoj Tiwari and etc., are the product of the faculty of arts. The network created during the faculty days are of most important as it helps to get our work done easily and smoothly.as from the faculty of arts, the number of students have passed out and have become IAS and IPS officers. Needless to mention we feel overwhelmed after meeting them.

Exam Structure

The faculty of arts follows Semester pattern of exam. The semester exams are being conducted twice a year with the first semester classes beginning from the late July or early August till mid of December. Again the academic semester starts from the mid of January and it run till the end of May month.

Admission

First of all, I wrote the entrance test in which I got the air 51.then the UET test was followed by counselling procedure at the campus itself. All the original documents were verified during the counselling and a xerox copy of each was to be submitted at the counselling. Then it was followed by choice filling and the students were allowed to give preferences according to their choice.

Faculty

4

The faculty is prodigy in disguise. The hold the maximum earnable degree such as Ph.D., MA from different prestigious universities and colleges across the globe. The number of faculty members is so diverse as it contains wide-range of research scholars, fellows, masters, graduates, doctoral, and postdoctoral.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers all essential topics required for higher studies. The curriculum is detailed and helps build strong subject basics. Teaching methods are traditional, so adding more interactive sessions and skill-based learning would be a great improvement. Exams take place every semester along with internal class tests, which helps in continuous evaluation without extra stress

Placement Experience:

Placements in our College are decent. Students become eligible from the 5th/6th semester, and companies from media, PR, and digital marketing fields visit for recruitment. The placement cell also provides training, internships, and guidance. After graduation, I plan to explore both campus and off-campus opportunities in media and communication fields.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I'm from humanities background so the course is quite relevant for me. The course is quite outdated however it's the same for most of the universities. the curriculum should be aligned with the competitive exams and the teaching methods should be more inclusive about the competitive exams so that the student can prepare well not only for the present course but also further upcoming exams.
