- College provide you good placements. Really high figures especially for tech branches students.
- Campus life in dtu is very chill. Students enjoy whole semester except 1-2 week before the final exams. It doesn't have any much restrictions.
- You can explore variety of fields based upon your interest.
Dislikes
- Delhi students don't get hostels even after applying for it.
- Students intake is very large. In 2022, around 2400 students were taken for first year btech program.
Course Curriculum Overview
I found good scope in chemical engineering among all the core branches that's why I choose chemical engineering. The student-facility ratio is quite good at DTU. All the teachers are Phd holders and their assistants are doing Mtech. In each semester, you have mid sem and endsem only; No class test, weekly test. It's easy to pass the exam if you have seen past year's papers
Placement Experience
From your 6-7 semester, you will be eligible for a placement drive. Companies like Amazon, Google, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, etc visit and recruit students on high packages. The average package is more than 15 lakhs and the highest package was 1.84Cr. More than 2400 offers were made to students and almost all the people who were interested were placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
Currently, for a btech course, the total fee for four years is 9.31 lakhs. In the first year, 2.19 lakhs while in the last year, it is 2.5 lakhs. Students get scholarships via college also or through the Delhi government. The college also provides you with an education loan at a cheap rate of interest as dtu has SBI bank on its own campus. University provides you with good internship opportunities and on-campus placements
Campus Life
DTU is well known for its huge fest and very chill campus life. It has 5-6 really big fest per year. The cultural fest i.e. Engifest is the biggest fest in North India. Along with it, we also have technical, sports, literary, etc fest. Some fest is organised by different societies of the college. DTU library is really big, you can wide range of books in it. All classrooms are fully air-conditioned and have projectors and good-quality benches. College is very supportive of sports. The sports facilities are really good. There are many societies and clubs in the college, you can choose based on your choice
Admission
To get admission to DTU for btech, you have to qualify JEE MAINS exam. The admission process is done by JAC counselling based upon your jee rank. People with SC, ST, OBC, and EWS quotas will get huge relaxation for admission. Delhi people have 85% reservations while outside delhi students have only 15%, that's why it becomes very difficult for outside people to get in.
