Course Curriculum Overview

5

No, it's simple in my childhood I'm so curious about electronic instruments so I just want to know detailed information about these instruments and their applications in our daily life so I choose this branch. Faculty members are excellent I think non of the faculty members are less than five your experience so they are fully experienced and so confident in their lectures. The student ratio is around 38 in our branch. Faculty members are having Ph.D. in their respective subjects. Their teaching method is very attractive. If a student was unable to understand her lectures then they tried to clear his doubt whenever he understand the concept. No doubt all our facility members are excellent. There are only two-term exams and all exams are conducted in a good way there is no cheating and disturbance are not accepted. So to pass the above exam you have to study hard.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

There is one internship in one semester there is also a project that you learn about in the internship classes. So the companies are fintech technology and other companies are providing a lot of opportunities to the students. because I'm in 3rd semester so l have no idea about the opportunities and projects.

Placement Experience

5

From the fifth semester, students become eligible for placement there is a placement cell in college where the training is given to the students before placement. Highly visited companies are Wipro, tata, and other reputed companies and they are offered a lot of opportunities to the students our placement percentage is 75 percent in BTech in an academic year and 95 percent in a diploma. Here the highest package offered by the companies is 9Lpa and the lowest is 2.2Lpa and the average and the most commonly offered package is 4Lpa. My plan is so simple I'm trying to place in college campus placement but if it's not possible then I go to it companies or something else.

Fees and Financial Aid

In the CSE branch, there is an annual course fee of 80000 but in another branch, you have to pay 10000 less for an academic year. There is a cms called a college management system where all your data are available you simply open your cms and you can see your fees there. There is a scholarship cell available in college where you can apply for your state scholarship and the college approves all the correct applications. Here basically Odisha state scholarships are applied for a large amount because the college is in Odisha.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is so much interesting in our college. Basically in February and March, there is a musical night known as jubilance hosted on our college campus on the guitar stage. So our college is divided into six houses so all houses are participating in the musical night and it's a six nights function and it's beginning on every last day of the week ie Saturday. Also here tv reality shows are sponsored by our college so they also come to our college and shoot their shows. All the newly coming books are available in our college library. Sports are interesting there are cricket, football, volleyball, throwball, badminton and kho kho are played. There is a WhatsApp group conducted by the students to inform you about all the information about the college, internship, functions, and scholarship so it's not complicated.

Admission

The admission process is so simple. For admission first, you have to submit the application form to the college. The application form is available offline and online also so you simply visit the college's website then you find the application link then you can submit your application. first, you paid the security money of 5000 after that the amount is added to your college fee. for admission to our college, you have to attend one of the above exams ie jee main or ojee so it's compulsory for admission. Then if your application form is eligible then you come to the college for reporting then your admission process is complete. Here reservation sheets are also available for TFW students. The admission process is so simple that no change is required.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIIT Bhubaneswar are generally good and improving, especially for students who stay consistent with coding, projects, and internships. In my college, students usually become eligible for campus placements from around the 7th semester (4th year), while many students start getting internship opportunities and pre-placement offers from the 5th–6th semester itself depending on skills. Every year, companies from the software and IT domain visit the campus for roles like Software Developer / SDE, QA, Analyst, Web Developer, and sometimes Data-related roles, and students also get offers through off-campus applications. Some of the common recruiters include companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, along with product/startup opportunities depending on the year, and multiple students receive more than one offer as well. The highest package and average package vary every year and depend a lot on branch, performance, and market conditions, but overall the college provides decent placement support and training sessions like aptitude, DSA guidance, and interview preparation. The placement percentage is also fairly good for students who actively participate in the placement process, while the rest generally go for higher studies or off-campus roles. After completing my degree, my plan is to either secure a good software developer role through campus/off-campus and build experience, or if I feel more interested academically, I may prepare for higher studies or competitive exams along with improving my skills.

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University - [SOA], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.
